Trust me, it IS mixed live! If you don't believe me, check out the liveset I mentioned before, because they mixing of that set was equally smooth. To reply to the PvD Mayday 2003 question, Pauls' mixing on that particular set was not very good. There are few parts where he almost majorly trainwrecked, like his transition out of Aalto - Rush (Super 8 Remix) Into Michelle Nicol - Time:nervous: However, his mixing on his essential mix live from columbiahalle and live at cream at amnesia is superb! I've only heard a couple of old ASOT's, but from what I have, Armin sounds like one of the best trance mixers. |

| The only GUs that are mixed live are Nick Warren's early GUs and both Of Oakey's.It doesn't say on the cover that GU013 is mixed live,where as on GU New York it does. |

I'm pretty sure that Dave Seaman's was mixed live as well. I wasn't aware that GU New York was mixed live. Sure doesn't sound like it (Sounds like a computer fading over from one song to the next). |

Mixing trance cannot be compared to mixing prog. Prog track are more similar to one another, so if they were mixed good you wouldn't here the transition. Same with house, every house track has similar easy to mix fat bassline. Trance tracks has much more difference between one another, every track has its unique melody so they aren't that easy to mix. |

The computer fading one song over the next is the crossfader:rolleyes: In GU New York u can hear the crackle of the vinyl in certain parts of the compliation and it says on the back of the cd that it was mixed live and unmastered as Oakey wanted |

I'v heard a couple of his Trance Airwaves sets as well, they all seem to be nicely mixed too :) |
