is this true? the salesman told me that laptop runs on batteries now that has to be replaced every year for 300 dollars each time. that's ridiculous. that 2 years is considered old timer for a laptop.
and laptops on average only last just 2 hours for batterly life unless i get a higher end laptop. |

ya I think its true man...no cheep buisnes. But I'm sure the batery life is longer than 2 hours. my friends comp lasts 5 hours at least..(true his is a kick ass one)
But you can always buy a good batery w/ a awerage comp.
Annyway, Lap top is good thing man, portable machine, music, vids. all that. I'd get one if I had the money haha.

Battery life will vary depending on how the laptop is being used. If the processor is being pushed then you expect your battery to last for a shorter time. |

| i reckon thats only true if the laptop is constantly powered by the battery. if you would be using it at the office/home etc where it could be plugged into the mains then imm sure you will get more battery life than a year, it depends on how often you are going to be using it without a mains power supply. |

| retarded question.. can i put a new soundcard into my laptop? |

my first battery lasted just under a year, got a new one from the warantee. now i've had the 2nd one for 2 years and it's completely ed. i heard someone else with the same laptop open the battery up and disconnected the broken cell.. might try that.
about a soundcard, i would imagine most are built in on the motherboard. you'd probably have to get a usb soundcard or something like http://www.protools.com/products/mbox/ . costs quite a bit, you can probably find some cheaper ones on www.m-audio.com |

| I'm on my second laptop and I've never had to replace a battery... as for the sound care... you won't be able to replace it... but you can find great usb or firewire cards out there--- check out m-audio, they have some relatively inexpensive cards that will do the job. |
