I would say that there really is no status quo ... things are either heading upwards or heading downwards. People are hedging their bets that things are bottoming out and will proceed upwards.
The thing is, is that the rise in unemployment was expected. What was unexpected was that it was less severe than previously thought. I guess we'll find out more on Monday when wholesale trade report is released and the Kansas City Fed Manufacturing Survey is released.
Btw ... what's with all the focus on the US? :)
Nobody seems to care or notice that Canada's unemployment rose .3% to 7.8%. Or how about Schroeder's new labor reforms ... do you think that's going to pull the German economy out of a recession? Geez let's talk about something else for a while hehe. |

Also interesting will be the money supply report. I would like to see a hot chick with big teets and a tight ass deliver the report.:haha:
Unemployment report was in-line with expectations. Yesterday's initial claims were worse than expectations. Market action today was nearly unbearable to watch. |
