Yes - Toronto has a thriving counterculture you won't see in the big clubs, or in the magazines. There's a good forum to find out all about the events, the music, the people, and the culture: http://www.ektoplazm.com/bbs/
There are also free music downloads... and we've got a vinyl for sale which I don't think many TA's have given a fair chance to. The psytrance people call it regular trance, the trance fans call it psytrance... oh the horrible nature of pigeon-holing :) if you dig you'll find out about it. I could name-drop what big DJs have this in their crate but that's against what I think is reasonable ;) decide for yourself.
Anyhow, try it out if you're interested or if you've been bored with the same-old-junk... Summer is NOW and that means tons of spontaneous outdoor events (bush parties!) and FESTIVALS... some of which you won't be finding out about -anywhere- else.

Hey, nice site! I've been looking for a music forum like this to discuss about psytrance. Very nice site, I'm going to register right now. |

Thanks for the link;) The psychadelic trance scene is so much more underground for sure. Always mean to hit up one of these parties, apparently psy parties are alot of fun and very energetic vibe. |

they sure are - and summer is fantastic for the underground... mother nature doesn't charge for the venue, so usually the promoters dont charge people for the party ;) it would really be fantastic to have more individuals from the trancier side to be involved, as the psychedelic side does suffer a little from too much of the same style. the progressive substyle of psy gets fair respect from a lot of people but the epic flavour does not... uplifting psytrance is like the black sheep of the family :)
well, hope to see some people out there this summer... |
