very nice competition, I'm gonna give it a shot but something's bothering me
track selection and mixing ability fine but about creativeness and sound quality, will you take in mind that some people have better mixers e.g. pioneer, allen & heath that have inbiult effects and also others have external effectors, this allows them to be more creative than others and also produce better sound quality :/ |

Folks that have their hearts in the activity will put more money into the hobby.
(I own a Numark mixer. Welcome to the life of a poor college kid. But I have some money in the bank, and if I really wanted to have those extra effects, I could pony up that cash.) |

creativity doesnt always imply effects. |

well you shouldn't talk if you dont know cause FYI I was saving up for ages to get my equipment and i also spent all the money I had in my bank account on vinyl and in order to upgrade my mixer and right now I'm so broke I can't afford s#it, I'm not rich you know :/ |

sounds like you're committed, so I wouldn't worry about your creativity/sound quality in this competition. |

Remember it's not always about the equipment. Cuz most mixers ex. like the pioneers may have additional features like BPM counters, or better tables like Technics. But the thing that can take a lot of effect is the way you DJ in the first place. The equipment that might be a big thing is of course RECORDING equipment, which can get expensive, and if you don't have the high quality of it, your mix isn't going to sound good. Too bad i bought a MD where over 13hours of my mixes are on there(which means i gotta scarf up enough cash to get a nice recorder). But remember taht equipment for DJ'n won't factor as much as recording equipment. My quess is the only thing that's gonna take a little bit of a factor for quality mixers is that looping and sampling effect.
