step 2 - classics, the prodigy, chem bros, fatboy, daft punk, basement jaxx
step 3 - '97-'98 hype, pvd for an angel, children, usual suspects
step 4 - experimenting phase, dnb, breaks, tribal, house, jungle, prog, etc etc
step 5 - epic trance
step 6 - stuck at prog house |

Mid 80s >> addiction into electronic music got started with artists like Jarre, Vangelis & Kraftwerk
Late 80s >> Westbam & Oliver Lieb entered my world with their sounds
Early 90s >> KLF, Orbital & The Prodigy pushed me into more twisted and experimental beats
93 >> Humate, Cygnus X, Sven Väth, PvD & Energy 52 introduced their old classics which i keep as my first trance records even if Orbital had some trancy works earlier
Mid 90s >> BT, Sasha, Qattara, Blue Amazon, Hybrid & Chicane took me into journey in the more chilled and broken (meaning beats) world of trance & electronica
Late 90s >> Ferry Corsten, Armin, Rank 1 and the rest big names of today came along
2000s so far >> My taste has gone a bit off from the recent trance tunes into more prog like Sander K, James Holden,.. |

| I guess for me, my first real experience was in Cancun of all places...I remember being in Daddy O's and suddenly they started playing Insomnia (if I remember correctly). Next thing I knew the whole club was dancing, including myself. I guess at that point, I knew I had a taste for the music, and have just gotten more and more into it as the years have gone by. |

| I come to Trance thru Industrial and Electro. From stuff like Joy Division onwards. Industrial moved more and more into techno til one day i heard a JDJ Oakenfold CD with Halucinogen and Grace on it. After that it just kinda evolved. |

Always liked, Jean michel Jarre, Vangelis, Alan parsons project, Mike Oldfield and all the 80's synth pop.
Then when I was 14 (1995) I got introduced to Dreamscape, Vibalite, Pleasuredome etc mix tapes (all happy hardcore), got sick of that by the time I was 15 and found house. Found myself liking the more melodic house (as the term trance hadn't really been coined outside of mainland Europe). Then a mate gave me a tape with some trance on it. Some of the memorable tunes on it were:-
3 'n' 1 - Reflect
Future Breeeze - Why dont you dance with me
Love & Fate - Love & Fate part 2
& loads more
I was hooked. |

| I'm a trance newb....I had always liked electronic music, but never downloaded any. A friend came back from college about a year and a half ago and made me listen to some stuff, mostly Rob D. Then another friend sent me Southern Sun, which I thouroughly enjoyed. Then I bought In Search of Sunrise 2 and I was hooked. :) |

| I started out in the early 90's (I was only 11-12 at the time) when I got into dance music. Ever since then it grew and grew on me. Now Im trying to DJ. Im probably at step #1, but I think this step will last a while because I honestly dont like anything but trance, hard trance, and tech trance (marco style). Everything else is too weak for me, Nothing but you had to grow on me before I started enjoying it. To much melody and singing, not enough bass and beat. |

| For me it started about 1998 with the cheesey chart stuff I guess then I got Ferry Corsten's set from Trance Energy 2000 off napster and it blew me away, I was only ever connect for two hours and on my crap connection I could only get like 30 minutes of the set and it sounded so awesome, came across Tranceaddict around 2000 and I'm still here. Love Armin, Paul Van Dyk, Marco V, Tiesto style at the moment. |
