hey i have two tech 1200s except i've been using my friends stereo to mix and now that he needs it back I need to buy my own speakers and an amp to mix. I Dont' wanna buy a stereo. Can somebody recommend me some speakers and an amp for my setup? I dont need expensive speakers, just some to mix. Im mixing trance and want to mix hip hop.

thanks in advance TADJs.

I have no idea what kind of money/quality you are going for but one of the cool things about having a mixer is that it is basicly a preamp with lots of knobs :happy2: Therefore all you need is a poweramp and passive speakers. You do not need a reciever or anything like that to select inputs because the mixer does that. Also people will probably recommend just getting active speakers, this way you don't need a power amp, the amp is part of the speakers.
If you are more specific I (and others) will be able to make better suggestions.

PS - My current set up is:
AudioSource Amp One/A http://www.audiosource.net/00_amponea.html
pair of BIC America Venturi DV62si http://www.bicamerica.com/BOOKSHELFS.htm

The amp is a very nice poweramp (especially for the price, ~$200) and the speakers have modified crossovers. The speakers have a nice flat response (after the mod) and cost about <$150. Together it sounds very good but I really need a nice sub because I have no real low end. I went this route instead of active monitors because it is cheaper (then an equvalant sound quality IMO) and because it should be easy to upgrade.

Besides my 100W amp, I installed these 200W computer speakers witch i'm VERY happy about. They were actually VERY cheap (i think i payd about 25€ on them). The sound quality isn't 100% ofcourse but if you don't wanna spend alot of money and do want to annoy your neighbours with trance, i'd suggest you buy this.
