All my beliefs have changed, my ethics are no longer what they were.
I was going to the millitary, for two years (Sergant), and then study for five years. Yep, pretty straightforward don't you think?
But then I met her... Exchange Student from NYC (Wow, am I not an idiot, an exchange student?!!?!)...
Deeplessly in love, I've desided to the millitary, and go together with her to NYC and live with her at her brothers house(free of charge!) for a while, eg. till my Greencard expires :P ... However I will need a job. Now that's the real reason for this post.
I'd like to hear from someone who lives there, if it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a job, whatever you know, 7-11, gas station, Computer Tech(especially this one), whatever :) |

you picked a ty time to come to NY dude 'cause the economy sucks and the city is in the midst of a huge fiscal crisis.
assuming you have some marketable skills and a willingness to be flexible though, you should be able to find something--at the very least like a busboy at a diner or something.
check out www.monster.com and the classified ads at www.nytimes.com to get you started
best of luck |

| Not to be a downer on love but 4/5 moving for a guy/girl is a mistake. Especially in that off chance you guys break up and you're all alone in a new city with no friends and family... |

Well, I am a wizard with computers, no really, fixing computers is what gives me food on the table of fixing computers here at home... If I'm lucky, maybe I'll do something like that over there...
About the whole relationship thing, this is really no biggie, if something happens for any reason, I have my backup money, and I can always go home... This is supposed to be an adventure. I want my adventure to have a dim future, every new week is supposed to be a new challenge, a new quest... Since I have my girlfriend there, I basically have all I need except for food in my belly. For that I need a job, and now, I've spoken to a lot of people, and I'm really not concerned about this any more...
Anyways, see you in NYC! :) |
