In my MD there is the Stereo, LP2 and LP4 modes that I could choose. When set to LP2 I can store about 150 minutes of music. The quality is good.
I haven't tried recording on LP4 mode but I believe you double the mins. |

| if you're listnening on your earphones, you won't be able to tell the difference between lp4 and stereo really... but i think in lp4 you can record like 6 hrs of music on one 80 mind MD |

| so the biggest mini disc is 80min and there's some modes like LP2 and LP4 that let you fit more onto it? |

| yep, there's stereo mode, which is the best quality, and thats 80 min, then there's lp2 mode which is 160 min i think, and lp4 which is either 5 or 6 hours... |

What about netMDs ??
What's the difference between a normal md player? Can you store the music as a mp3 format ?? |

| Yes the quality does drop everytime you increase the length of the minidisc, but if you going to be listening through headphones the change in quality isnt very noticeable. But beware that not many minidiscs actually have the LP function, and even if you purchase an MD player that does have LP mode, if u record in LP4, and want to listen to u minidisc on another system, this other system must also be LP compatible. Hope that made sense :\ |
