ok... my friends and i have been to montreal about 5 times and we never have done the whole tourist thing b/c every time we go there we go for clubbing. this time, we will be going for almost a week so i was wondering if any of you guys had some tourism info. we are arriving in montreal wed. afternoon and then leaving sunday night. so far, all we have planned out is Aria on friday and walking st. catherine. i was wondering if you guys could share some places that my friends and i could go..(restaurants,bars/lounges,site seeing) any info is well appreciated.

Mont Royal for sightseeing !
Aria for clubbing !:p
Arabesque for SHISHA !:D (I discovered it yesterday hahaha)
as to bars, go to Crescent street and go from one to the other !:)

if you want to club, you can do some serious club hopping on St-Laurent.

sightseeing go to the old port at the belvedere (ask for it), go to st-helen island, walk in old montreal, check out the botinacal garden (one of the biggest in the world), the olympic stadium and its inclined tower, biodome, museums, etc etc there's so many things...

It's pretty cool in the winter.. it's just basically like 6 ajoining malls. I'd go for outdoor shopping on Ste-Catherines street, personally.

For the best shopping in town you have to go on ste-Catherine between Crescent and Bleury. Les cours Mont-Royale are good for shopping (corner ste-Catherine and Peel)

Stripclubs = Wandas (corner Lamontagne and Maisonneuve)
Super Sex (ste-Catherine)
Downtown (ste-Catherine)
Paré (Stanley)

Normal clubbing: St-Laurent

Somebody mentioned Grand Prix weekend was coming up...I was there in '99 for RJ training at Bombardier and we were staying downtown. So if that's this weekend...you are in for a heck of a time, tons of ppl, parties all over, everyone showing off their sports cars...etc.

I reccomend the bars on top of the hotels w/ pools if the weather is nice :) during the afternoons. I don't remember the name of the one we used to hang at...or if there is more than one...but the one we frequented was eye-candy-enlightening :).

So, not only will you have Aria to go too, I'm guessing there will be plenty more to do and see during Grand Prix week...I know we couldn't keep up with everything. (Of course we had to study too...bahh), but it was the best month I ever had.

Correct me if I'm wrong...peeps...lol I'm was a "tourist" too! :D
Have fun!

Cheers Montreal!
