June 06, 2003CIRRUS just blew me away with some of the best progressive breaks I've ever heard, then they switch to some incredible deep progressive tunes then back to progressive breaks with,. I wonder if anyone else caught it, PVD - Nothing But You(Cirrus Rmx which is on the flipside second track on the record) and then Cirrus finished off with an incredible proggy breakbeats. Reason why they blew me away, I was told by many that they mostly play funky Nu Skool breaks, I only heard one Nu Skool breaks track it too sounded very proggy. And then Fred Numf takes over, he is one of my favorite proggy producers 'Nuff said. :D
Can't wait till we book Cirrus for another LIVE DIGITAL MIX and Fred Numf for more of outstanding proggy music that he produces and/or spins.
btw. Fred Numf dropped Tribal Quest in the middle of his set and the entire dance floor just exploded with peeps dancing their hearts out. Tribal Quest is his newest released record and it is absolutely incredible, and I am waiting patiently for my order from last week, which included this newly released Fred Numf record.
I will post a link to a live stream rebroadcast of our great night, whenever vinylbeats.com notifies me. Cheers....

I had an awesome time!!! It was my first ever 21+ club listening to Deep Progressive and Progressive Breaks only. After attending alot of Epic Trance and Hard Trance clubs in the last couple years, I must say that the tunes I heard that night was truely DEEP!
I've been getting into progressive lately and I must say that this genre is very underrated. The scene was dark and gloomy compared to the scenes that I'm used to seeing such as ARMIN PVD and FERRY, but nevertheless I kinda needed that different atmospheric feel. I enjoyed that DEEP, DARK FEELING!!!
Cirrus live digital mix blew my mind away! Not to take anything away from turntables, but to perform live acts other than just turntables (e.g.- piano, gutiar set hooked up with PC's) impress me even more. When they played their remix of Nothing, I knew I had witnessed a great night. Fred Numf was the last to go. The Dutchman certainitly made quite an impression playing tracks that gets to your mind.
Met up with DJ Tranz that night, the first tranceaddict member that I ever met in person............and I knew him from before. LOL! Small World!!! To DJ Tranz, thanks for hooking me up that night. I OWE YOU BIG!!!
To the wife of one of the duos from CIRRUS, sorry. What are you laughing at DJ Tranz.:tongue2 |
