Who here has this and what are your comments about it? Im thinking about getting it so I can record my dj sets. I know it comes with some software, will this software let me break up my mix into tracks, so it wont just be one long track?

The delta 44 is a good card that has 4 ins and 4 outs. It has outboard DACs that allow the conversion to take place in a lower-noise environment. The software you're referring to is probably the M-Audio mixer that allows you to control the levels etc. of the ins and outs. I know this doesn't completely answer it, but maybe it helps. Chrono has the 44 and he recommends it.

You're better of using a wave editor like sound forge or wave lab to cut up the sets into individual tracks, or use a burning program like Nero to insert track markers.

I have the audiophile which is pretty similar. Remember that 4 in and 4 out is really 2 x stereo in and 2 x stereo out. If you only want it for recording your sets, it will do fine. The delta series are great sounding cards.

I have the delta 44 also. it has a seperate breakout box with 4ins/4outs which I especially like. definitely recommended!

what are the ins and outs for? :-/ (i r n00b)
Etherium
The ins and outs are for whatever....like hardware synths etc.
DJ Chrono
the ins and outs are for plugging in equipment.

example:

I've got a supernova connected to in 1 & 2 (each in is mono, so you need two for stereo).

And my mixer connected to in 3 & 4.

I can then hear both my supernova and my mixer through my computer (along with the computer's own sound). I can then choose to mute any channels I want, and record any channels I want.

I've got out 1 & 2 going to my amp

and out 3 & 4 going to my mixer.

The outs play all the sounds that are currently running through your computer.
