I think progressive trance or tech house.

Twilogoddess is right, Max Graham is progressive...some may say tech-house. He also tends to play some goa-type stuff as well during his sets. There are hardly any DJs though that are just one style...
Twilogoddess
Max produces Prog trance but he plays tech & prog house.

Tiesto ONLY plays Epic trance.

ps: JayP, U shouldn't classify DJ's by their albums. A live set is more a true representation of their style. :)

bull :p he plays a lot of epic but he has been heard (by my own 2 ears) to play progressive, same kind of progressive as max graham.

every time ive seen max he's played kinda uplifting progressive.

Interesting, I've seen Tiesto 2x...both times totally Epic. Some early Tiesto sets sound goa or techno. I wouldn't say Tiesto is as progressive as Max.

yea proggy trance...i really am not a fan of him...

Just surfered through different threads =) And found one of my Fav. DJ's at this momment =))) Who Even has the same name as I do...
I would classify Max as Progressive & maybe some Tech House but I hear a lot of mellow stuff on his mixes (something like Paul Oakenfold had) Maybe I'm wrong...Tiesto is the best..he plays everything that is f.. great, and I don't know anybody that would denie it !!!

max doesn't play much tech house guys. listen to disc 2 of danny howells' nubreed, THAT is tech house.

max is progressive. energetic progressive. that's it. he plays the odd epic tune, but basically prog-house is what he sticks too.

and don't even compare tiesto and max. teisto is mediocre, plays some cheese, and isn't that great a mixer.

i have seen both djs, more than once. max takes people to a new level. there is a reason they asked him to do trasport 4, and not tiesto. he is well on his way to being HUGE.

Moloko,

I'd disagree. Not that he's not gonna get huge, but on the style. Max is the definition of prog trance, IMO. Much more synths, higher tempo, but more so, his core has always been trance. He used to be slightly epic, believe it or not...

Actually, I don't like the direction he's going... I saw him a month ago, and it was pretty monotonous, like Sander K or Lawler... Don't care how technical he is - without the emotion, I can't get into it anymore...

About Tiesto - you've got to take perspective. It's also not about the subtlties, but the energy of the set. It takes a different way of thinking to enjoy either of them...

Cool name. Great track...

Umm neither Max Graham nor Tiesto EVER played anything that even remotely sounds like goa. Maybe some darker sounding trance, but definitely nothing that would compare to goa.

I agree with most people here, Graham's style is definitely progressive trance. He might drop the odd epic track but I would never compare him with Tiesto.
