day started off not-so-well. slept in, so i couldn't go shopping in tdot like i wanted. oh well. buy my bus ticket, go to the atm and get some money out, go back to get on the bus, and wtf. no ticket. i lost it. 26.75 gone. BAH. so i bought another :/
got to nat's at around 6:15 i guess, to help her organize the party. we made a dent in her cluttered room, but i think that won't do much (read the feng shui book! on top of all your cds! :)) gotta love nat for being so nice and hospitable. :D
7:30 rolls around, no one here. then later on peeps start trickling in, until there's a fair number. met most of everyone there, but yeah right i can remember everyone :p if you met me, then yo, sup ^_^ :p that story with the chairs... ROFL. best. story. evar. so perfect.
got in for free (thanks shima!) and marco v was dead on all night (even with the trance played. welcome break, and broke the mold for a pure tech-trance set) street carnival was in wicked, pontape was SICK, damn, he played so many killer tracks. and yeah, there was one track that had a wicked bleep bloop tech melody for a tiny bit, then boom, right into the hard beats. i wanna know what that was. in SICK.
but i didn't really go all out until mark oliver came on. what the hell was all that hard nrg stuff?! HOT DAMN. people who saw me knew i was having a kick ass time. it was like i had no control. full body spasms :crazy:
and the afterparty was nice too. kept passing in and out of consciousness :p interesting convos too, specially in my state. :eek:
all in all, glad to be back after my absence. well worth the wait.
i would list everyone i saw, but bah. if i didn't meet you, i hope to in the future.
i've said it before and i'll say it again: TA's are the best to party with. hands down. in my pants.

HOLY CRAP!
In the 6 months or so I've been out partying, this is definitely near the top of my list. 10/10 overall, honestly.
Let me get the irritants over with first:
- Guvernment was a sardine can! It was packed like a motherf*cker in there, even for the Guv. I could NOT move without pushing people around, which I really hate doing.
- Mark O was great for the hour before, and the hour after Marco V's set, but as for the rest, he just totally lost me.
- Swamper not making his own party! Grr!
- Sound system was turned up just a little too loud, my ears were ringing a bit afterwards and I had good earplugs. But I guess it was sort of necessary considering the size of the crowd.
And the good:
- Contrary to what some people said, the crowd was very much alive! Of course there were the ole' speaker huggers and such, but there were tons of people waving banners and pumping fists and all that. Obviously it wasn't the same vibe as Tiesto, but there was a lot of excitement in there.
- Is this how Marco V always spins live? ! I was not expecting his track selection and mixing to be that good, it was truly frickin' amazing. I think some people already posted track lists so I won't bother, but Universal Nation and Loops & Things - wow it's been ages since I heard those! Daaamn, I hope he comes back soon, he was bangin' out the tunes hard.
- TA crowd: saw lots of people come out to represent that night (shoutouts to follow).
- Pre-party! Finally got to talk to some of these guys that I never see outside of the clubs: Hardcore Trancer, Ninjapimp, SAGE234811275454372589, Eso, StarRiva (who's right up there with Obe in post count), and also Chris and Pris from the pre-pre-party - it was great to have actual conversations with all of you where I could actually hear something!
Techno Addict, I WAS RIGHT BEHIND YOU!! I was standing beside Jason and I tapped you on the shoulder, then you looked at me like I was from another planet!
Mike and Jenna, were you there?? Damn, must've missed you...
Now for the remaining shoutouts, in no particular order (I'm sure I'll miss a ton, but I'm giving it a shot): Emery, Chris, TimeWarp (yeah, I remember your name but I don't have a clue how to spell it :p), Pris, Nat, Allan, Eso (I can't believe you came!), Jason and his friend, Monish, Button (blind boy), Ken, Mirza, Kim (great to chill with :D - does she read these?), Vince, Carlos, Corinne, John, Az, Obe, Cuzo, Wurm (LOL at that uniform, I thought you were a cop!), Swamper (for about 0.01 seconds, but I gave the proper military salute), Greg, Caryn & Jess (:eyes: those two are even hotter than I remembered... lol), nismodreams, Art, Mecha, and a bunch of Nat's friends. THERE! Did I forget anybody?
Nat, thanks for the hospitality - and the cake! Did you show Swamper the pictures yet?
That's about all I can think of to write... let me just say again that this night was freaking OFF THE HOOK! Weeeeeeeeeee!!! And I'm spent. |
