Gatecrasher
State Theater Detroit
Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Dj Fadie
Alright....so me and a few fellow TA's and some friends get to State theater about 9:30 or so...maybe a little later.....and we were practically the only people there. I figure around 11 or 12 the place will get somewhat more full......NOPE.....it was amazing...I could have run back and forth across the main floor and noone woulda cared. It was sooo sweet, we all got to dance uninhibited and we were able to run back up and sit down when we got tired....That place was soooo hot...i danced for like 5 seconds and i was soaked.
I was able to snag a little souvenir from some huge guy in front of me....the MC threw this band they used for the VIP passes to him and i grabbed it and booked haha...
Definitely top 3 shows ive seen
Wasnt able to remember very many songs,
But Scott Bond played (not in any order);
1.Scott Bond-3rd Earth (Marco V remix)
2.Matt Darey- Gamemaster 2003
3.Coldplay- Clocks (Marco V bootleg mix)
4.BT- Flaming June (not sure which mix....sounded very close to the original)
.......Ehhh its 730 in the mornin' Ill get back to yall later......
Oh man....how could I forget.......
5.Underworld-BORN SLIPPY(also a different mix)!!!!!!!!!!!
Please someone try to update the playlist....later Now that the suns up, time for me to lay down.
Also a big shout out to "KT" for chattin after the show... |

If you didn't go to this last night, you should definitely be kicking yourself. Definitely one of the best shows I have seen..... EVER! I am no longer an independent person, because Scott Bond owns me.
Some other tracks I recall:
Marco V - c:/del*.mp3
Gouryella - Ligaya
That Underworld remix was SICK!
Bleh, thats all I have. But Scott Bond has moved in my list of favorite DJs.
Gotta give props to all of the TA's there:
DRC, arecebo, dubblies, TC, Wu, and all the people who faces I can see, but whose names elude me. Its always a blast partying with you, and I can't wait to see you all out again sometime.

Wow TAs....all I have to say is if freaking Gatecasher shows up to your city, you better show up as well because last night was rediculous. DJ Fadie warmed up the crowd with a mix of chill trance and other great sounds that only he knows how to make. Then as the State Theater began to fill, Hardwick came on and played the second sweet set of the night. Finally, the dance floor was getting busy and on came Scott Bond. Wow dude. Wow. I was physically dead by about four songs into that final set. I can't explain what happened to me, but I just had to go sit down like 800 times because I was so out breath. Unbelievable. The remix of Underworld was the clincher. That's when I knew that my raver elbow was deffinitely not going to be healed that night. It was just a crazy show to begin with, I think the best comment of the night was: "Detroit, there aren't that many of you here, but the ones that are, are tremendous!!!" That sums of the show well. Everybody that was there last night loved the music, loved the DJs, loved the atmosphere. The drunk kids pusing through the dance floor weren't there. The times where all you can do is jump around because there are 12,000 people on a twenty square foot floor was deffinitly not there. All that was there, were serious fans of the show and I'm glad that I got to experience that show with them. The TAs showed up in force w/Garth, the Waldo Surprise, DJ Bod, you know whats up, anyways, there should have been more of you there, but what can I do.
Rediculous man. Oh and listen to this story right......
After the show, Kenneth Thomas was handing out flyers to his 6/26 4 hour set at the Necto! Well, we've seen this guy spin at PvD in Ann Arbor, and Tiesto in Detroit, and he was just insane both times. Anyway, KT, I'm sorry man, we deffinitely did not have our heads on straight, because we totally didn't recognize you. One girl did, and then we were walking away, but really thought you would understand. But, we'll be there, the Ninth Power enjoys KT's spinning adventures. If you don't remember, we were the kids going "OH MAN, KT AT THE NECTO, HOLY !!!"...haha...what can I say, Gatecrasher rocked my head to the floor. Cya on the 26th!!!:eyes:  |

I can't think of anymore right now and some may be wrong, who knows... I wish there were more people there, the atmosphere was ty... but scott bond and matt hartwick are the best technical djs ive ever seen. Hartwick is far and away the best mixer I've ever seen and his set was just amazing. Seriously I think both in the top 5 sets I have ever seen maybe even higher, but I've been to MUCH better parties.. Only songs I can remember from Hartwick's set was Midway - monkey forrest and sirocco vs solar stone - destination. Amazing night.. nice meetin trancecontrol and wu for the first time and of course the usual guys... I'll update if i remember more songs :/ |

nice to get to meet some of you guys last night. i didnt think anyone would find me. i expected nothing more from matt hardwick or scott bond, but i expected a lot more from detroit. where the was everyone for this show. im not complaining, because i liked all the open room on the dance floor. no one started dancing till about midway through hardwicks set. i was talking to his manager, and he said that they had a big show planned for us but he wanted to wait for more ppl)the lasers, shirt giveaways, cd giveaways etc). awesome sets by all the dj's, and even though i suck as id'ing tunes live, i did manage to pull love angel out of my ass when he was playing it, prolly bc i was listening to the song in my car on the way. i cant id any of hardwicks tunes except for beautiful together. he played some massive uplifters though and one where the bass in the breakdown shook the whole ing place. i literally just went "wow holy "
until next time... |
