Um, sorry for threads like these, but...........

that's exactly what my parents say when they hear the Beats. They know NOTHING about Trance and they wouldn't try to understand my point. :(

We've had bad fights involving my use of the Audio System to listen to Trance......any suggestions on how I might get 'em to understand Trance music by definition, or atleast accept? I don't listen to Hardstyle, It's melodic/uplifting/chill......

This might have been asked before, but I'm a n00b, so help and not flame :D

Ok here's what u do!
U need to get 'em to really listen to the music.
Tell 'em to lay down in their bed or sumthin and dim the lights.
Then tell 'em to just listen to it, don't let em talk.

Eugina - Salt Tank ft. Neve (Sargasso Sea Remix)
Chicane - Saltwater (Thrillseekers Remix)

They should be relaxed by now so u can put on some 4X4 action.

Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseekers Club Mix)
ATB - 9PM (Till I Come) (Matt Darey Remix)
Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water (Ferry Corsten Mix )
Finish it off with:
System F - Solstice

If that don't work then I dunno what to do.

Put on one of the "classics" thats all melodic and what not tell them to listen to it w/ an open mind. If they don't like it, then you need to accept the fact that not everyone loves, or even likes trance, and theres nothing wrong with that.

speedy j - krekc

or, if they use the 'this doesnt change' line,
try Igor S - Boomerang

Or, for "God Damn repetitive", try:

Umek - Lanicor
Gaetano Parisio - Suprema

sometimes parents just refuse to accept what their children listen to simply because they think they should... and they don't even stop to think why we like this music

plus, older people hear the music differently, because they as you get older, you generally stop hearing higher frequencies... so that might be one of the cases why parents aren't too fond of trance (another one being that they're still stuck in their 70s/whatever beatles age)

Yeah man, just get them to actually LISTEN the tracks. Make sure you play your favorite track. Tell them to listen to all the different sounds in the track. The strings, hats, kicks, bass, the melody, etc.

Suggestion: play something that actually has lyrics. Like Delerium - Innocente or Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes.
