NEW VERSION.
No scratches, better percussion.

Kompulsor - Analyze This (8:30)

As always, melodic hard-trance.
The title speaks for itself, so... analysis expected  :tongue3

alright, not really diggin that kick. I say put some reverb + delay on those clicks in the begining. Dun really like that scratching. Oh my, that vocal is cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese.;) I really like the main lead. I think it could really use some portamento. that would be 1337. nice work

-nic-

nic, thanks for the review, - portamento where?

for some reason you *never* like my kicks! :D

i say you put a slight potamento on the main lead. you know, slight bends from note to note.

hehe, i just think we look for different things in kicks. eh, who knows.
mikefasssy
yea thats scratchin is kinda strange....

the melody and lead is wicked though, I love that kick :D

might be nice to incorporate more of that first lead into the track, its really nice to hear.

nice work, dunno if this beats the last track, kinda even I would say

cheers, Caleb

I downloaded one of your tracks a while ago, and I have to say that you've improved a lot since then. I remember reading that you've only produced for some months which makes this very impressing. It's not exactly my style, but I liked the melody and I thought it was very good compared to tracks in the similar style. I would turn down the scratch sound and the kick sounded slightly distorted. Don't know if that was intentional or not. Keep up the good work:)

Peace
Eugene
Guys, thanks a lot for your reviews.

By the way Fatboy, this is one of my most melodic tracks to date, so I'm especially glad that you like it, because I guess this one comes closer to your and Lightworks' uplifting style than any of my other tunes.

I agree that some things need to be fixed (e.g. the scratching), and the kick is indeed distorted, so I'll work on that. These fx were added quickly, without much thought, just to give a 'rhythmic boost' to the bassline, if you know what I mean.

i'm with nic on all he said.

haven't really liked any of your kick's either actually ;)
i like the melodie... could i get a midi of it?

dbl, my Fruity->MIDI function doesn't work, I always get a 0-Kb empty file even when I draw notes on the MIDI OUT channel. I suspect this is a problem with my sound card...

Here is a FruityLoops file with just 1 channel, the main melody notes (don't worry if the channel doesn't load, the piano roll will still hold the notes):
analyzethis_mainarp.flp

If you or someone else could export this to MIDI yourself, with your sound card, that would be great.

Enjoy :toothless
and if someone makes the MIDI file please post! :tongue2

you have to create a MIDIOUT channel and put the notes in and then export as midi.. doesn't work to have a normal channel with a sound/VSTi on it and export with that...

so a MIDIOUT channel is the key ;)

that's exactly what I did, - doesn't work. The MIDI file is empty.

Tight track :eyes:

Melody + lead = awesome. With a little work on the scratching and kicks, this could be a masterpiece.
