I love trance. I love Tiesto. I am of the female gender.

Hey, I remember you, you said something like you were working up the courage to post an intro. :p
You should do that. That is, if you want 30 TAs to simultaneously PM you asking for your number and dimensions.
(No, I'm just kidding. Introduce yaself.)
Club #9150 is awesome, it's got millions of dollars worth of decor and cosmetics, but no one ever goes to it, so it's like... untapped resources. I hear it's cheap to rent, too. |

I think guys like trance more for a 2 reasons
1) guys tend to be more computer nerds ( me included), so naturally electronic music stems from them. I dont mean in computer use as much as how they use them.
2) guys are considered "hard learners": hierarchical and strictly logical learning
girls are "soft learners": identify with computers interactively and conversationally
the strictly hieracrhical and logical learning, in my opinion, can be used to describe electronic music |

hrmmm thats an interesting take on it.. but what about House music? I find girls like house music way more then trance, and yet house is still electronically based. |

I don't understand the last voting item. If you're on TA, wouldn't you love or at least like trance? Girls don't really get all obsessed and excited about websites so that's why you don't get them that often on here. Usually we come on to check out pictures, flyers and events. :) |
I do agree with partyprincess. I do like checking out websites (not that big on it though) but when it comes to posting i get a little shy, even though my boyfriend (another fellow TA) has always encouraged me to post, and i would rather just read the stuff check out the pictures and the upcoming events. Its only after I met a few of you have i become more comfortable with posting anything.
And to answer the poll question I do love trance..... :eyespop: |

the reason why i think trance is less popular than dance or hip hop (in north america at least) is because girls can't 'groove' as much to it. another issue is lyrics...there's been a lot more vocal trance lately but a lot of better tracks have no vocals and the common response is "where are the words" (thats not just coming from females tho)...
another point..no grinding...not that easy to dance with a parnter ... where the hell are they gonna hear trance unless they're either good with computers or are lucky enough to find tranceaddict or digitally imported or something ...
remember when Darude - Sandstorm came here it was such a big hit, probably cuz no one ever heard trance before |

i really don't think it's a gender issue... i mean... i have exactly 0 friends who are fans of trance, male or female... whenever i go to an event its usually random friends who just come outta boredom, not to listen to tiesto drop a cool set or something. and yes, they're always 5 guys for every one girl... but i think that's only coincidence (girls hate me?)... it's just a time where hardly anyone is a trance addict... i can't find a regular group of people to go to events with... let alone ever find a gf whose into it...
i think it's just the times... like people with long hair and acid washed jeans used to headbang away in the 80's, people used to part hard all night long to trance music in the early 90's... the era is over... rap and hip hop have taken over... and that trend is slowly dying too... believe it or not pretend punk is making a comeback... (though i doubt u can really go to a club for that kinda thing)... there's no one to blame... its just timing... its just that we're the ones who dont jump the bandwagon and run off to whatever music will make our friends think we're cool. mind you, girls do jump the bandwagon sooner than guys, maybe thats why there's less female TA's remaining... they're kinda stupid that way (jk)
personally i like any music as long as it sounds good (except country... heh)
oh... its also culture too... i come from croatia, and i know all anyone listens to there is trance... and its in the heart of europe, and everyone is white... coincidence? i dont mean to offend any minorities, but u go to system on a friday night... and to that tiesto show last week... compare the white to non-white ratio in either place... theres a huge difference... |
