Recording from Vestax PMC-270a?

Hi,

I was trying to record from my Vestax and the Line 4 on top of the mixer was where I was told you can hook up a CD recorder to...then I noticed that it was a Line IN and not Line OUT ..so i had to connect the recorder to a receiver and connect the receiver to my mixer...is there a way that I can just connect the recorder to my mixer and not use the receiver...I tried a few things and nothing seemed to work...

Thanks
infinity
no.. the Line 4.. is for a CD/MD/DAT input.. and not output..
to record onto CD... i don't think u can
because a CD does not burn at the rate like an mp3 would..
i would recommend u record onto mp3 with Goldwave, Soundforge, or something like that before burning onto a CD.

yea..actually I have burned my live sets in real time...I just have to hook up my CD Recorder to my Receiver and then the Receiver to my mixer...but when spinning live at clubs I have hooked up the CD recorder directly to the mixer and it recorded no problem...it just seems the Vestax doesn't have that Record Output...the CD recorder I have is a Philips CDR Audio Recorder...so it just hooks up to an output and records...its cool..but theres no output for Recording on the Vestax...oh well...back to the old method...but thanks for the info...

Hey DJ Sean.....how is that Philips CD Audio recorder. I've been real curious about them. Do they have an automatic gain control or is it real easy to over record and clip out on them? Also, is it as easy to up a cd as it is with a data Cd recorder?
DJ Sean
Yea the Philips is nice...its got auto gain control...basically it is coordinated with you mixer levels..so if the mixer levels are good the Philips record level is good...I haven't had one failed session yet...I don't think its nearly as sensitive as a CD writer from a computer....and it sounds great too...you can even split up your mixes into tracks...
