Just got mine today, and I am listening to disc 1...
all I can say is, WOW. I've never been a huge fan of this style, but this is amazing. I am a dedicated Sultan fan now :D
Even better, this compilation just screams Toronto vibe for some reason.
Deep Dish is amazing, because this CD puts off such an incredible vibe, perfect soundtrack for roaming the Toronto streets. |

Disc one sucks except for Aalachio - Sattelite (which is the best song in the 2 CD set IMO)
Disc two is good.
GU 021 was WAAAAY better. |

I wanna get this cd...I mean, it's GU TO right? I have to get it. I also wanto to get Nick Warren's recent GU disc...the promo blew me away. |

quite the "house" album.:o
I'm not going to force myself to like this album just cause it's the TORONTO GU. I was looking forward to this albums for months now. Downloaded the promo off soulseek..I am pleased I didn't buy this ear bleading compilation. GU is an overall great series, but just might be the worst of them.
I hope it's the last Deep Dish GU EVER! :whip:

ahh.. I hope this guy is the only one that thinks so. I'd hate to think this reflect the scene in Toronto. Not only will people will be scared of catching SARS, they'll be PETRIFIED to go our nightclubs. |

| I just bought the disc today and I really like it alot. It's defintely housey, but I'm a househead, so it's definitely my cup of tea. Props to GU and Deep Dish, this is a great mix cd. Listen to it yourself, some will like it, others will not...end of story! |

indeed!!! I wasn't a huge fan of house until I heard this.
Doesn't make me want to jump up and dance necessarily, but it's fantastic for chilling and cruising.
And like I said, it just pulsates with the vibe of the streets of Toronto.

The compilation as a whole is pretty solid, with disc 1 outshining disc 2. However, just keep in mind that its all about the Afterhour mixes! :D

The whole compilation is freakin brilliant...im not as critical as some others so i can easily step up and say i had a blast at the recording party and the release party. The cds are both really good....:)
gjob toronto at providing the sort of vibe and atmosphere that inspired this...:)
