I also read an interview that it is derived from his real name Tijs Verwest....
Basically he took certain letters of his real name TIjs vErweST (TIEST) and then added the "o" to make it sound "italian" which to him sounded cool. |

| Oh for goodness sake, it was a childhood nickname that stuck. He says that in just about any interview. It doesn't mean anything other than a nickname that he took on as his DJ name. |
