| Well, I think most people that have found this site downloaded a track or a set with the name of the site attached to it. That's what surprises me because this site does not offer e like Warp Brothers for download or any commercial crap, so I'm extremely surprised that everyone here hasn't grown out of that kind of crap so that's why I always comment on them when somebody mentions them! |

I agree with bigjim on this one. I am actually surprised at how people can say "trance is great music, it's amazing... bla bla bla" acting like they are all about the music itself. And like Bigjim said, if Darude's hit did NOT go commercial, people would still be jammin to Sandstorm. So looking at it like that, it's not about the music, it seems to be about popularity. What is it about a song going commercial that disgusts people? If you're gonna listen and be a fan of a type of music, then do it for your love of music and the songs, not for whether the song is commercial or underground or any of that . The people that do abandon songs they used to like just because they're commercial are superficial listeners. If the song itself is good, then it will always be good, the sounds, the melody, the rhythm, and the bass, will all still be there, whether the song appears on MTV's Total Request Live or whether the song remains in some lonesome DJ's studio...

Hey I'm from Canada...Right on the boarder to Detroit... And Darude has just become big in the past 4 or 5 months. I didn't mind his tunes man...The oly thing that pisses me off is that he went commercial and all these preppy kids are pumpin Sandstorm cause that is the only trance song they know. Around here, if you are caught listening to that or any commercial you are considdered anything but Elete.
Around here the only way you can getaway with talking about the comercialized dj's is if you r one really really Elete person.and mean really elete. Like you gotta be wearing all custom made "SnuG" threads and or other stuff like that that make dj's walk up to you and say " Who do you know and when can you book me". Or you will get crittisized down here. Anyways that is

| The reason i wanted to know about Darude is b/c not many DJ come to Saint Louis so its a big deal here kinda, I agree im sick of Darude...they over play it in the clubs and yes Trance isnt very popular in the US YET! But i still like the same stuff you guys do i mean i know about this site dont i?? |

that is soooo true.......id have to give this the only reason why im not really fond of darude.....and those who think atb sucks...they have some really nice relaxing tunes! |

Arent we turning into the snobby eliteist bunch? Trance is trance, be it what u call 'cheese' or not. How can you criticize music that u once loved, that now made it big? Is it Darudes fault that he made what too many people thought were a great song? Dont think so. U gonna hate PvD for his stuff cuz it get radio play too? Doubt it. We r so in snobby in this site, that its nuts. Really, other than my absolute love and appreciation for the music, im no different than the clubber down the street.

| People are too stingy, they think that if an artists gets too popular they are no longer cool. Just b/c Darudes stuff gets played on the radio and not much PvD does, maybe your jealous b/c you'd wish PvD was played on the radio also. If a song gets popular it doesnt mean you have to hate it, just appreciate it more. You all think that if an artist makes it big they are so called "Sell outs" but exactly why are they sell outs? They must have good music to make it to the top. If they make it to the top they must obviously be doing something right? So what i'm saying is give them credit for making it to they top and producing good music. Maybe you dont think so but I know that in the US everyone is entitled to their own opinion. |
