Novation KS5 - a good first hardware synth?

I've been mucking around with vstis for a while now, but I'm looking at getting a nice hardware synth. My local store has a KS5 on special (it's a display model) and I was wondering if anybody has used this synthesiser before? It sounds pretty awesome, but I'm not certain if it's worth getting as I already have the V-Station vsti. Is there much of a difference between the KS5 and the V-Station vsti and is it worth paying the extra money for the hardware synth?

I believe they sound the same. The problem with the V-station is that you can only run a few of them at the same time. This makes the KS5 more interesting. But I wouldn't buy the synth if I already have the V-station, because it's more interesting in my opinion to mix different sound caracters from different synths.

I think the Waldorf MicroQ can be compared with the KS5, and it isn't expensive also. There is the Evolver too, wich sounds really great, but is monophonic. This one is cheaper then the MicroQ, but I'll guess it is not powerfull enough for you, but it would be a nice addon, like the MicroQ, to your V-station and others.

Dowlz, I picked up my virus c desktop for less than the KS5 goes for. Have a look around, you should be able to pick up one for around $2900. There are definitely better synths out there in that price range. you just need to find a store that does the 25% discount thingy.
