Lovely set.
Awsome trance tracks.
Nice and interesting mixing skills.
Most of the transitions were harmonic or crosfadish but sounded realy
good. You'll probably kick my ass in the competition, if "Something for the weekend" is half that good as this one.
Good beatmatching, but I think the bass was over powered sometimes
(that's realy hard to tell when you're spining so is no big deal).

What equipment did you used for mixing?
Is this a live set?
djsphere
For how long are u spining?
I realy am an amateur. "The Entrance" is my first live set.
I tried a light uplifting trance set.
Maybe we will be able to download the other competitors mixes from the competition server after it's over, in september.

DJ Sphere...

Thanks for the compliments..I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The second mix on my site "Best of Sunscape" is not my kind of music, it was a set I mixed for a friend in Germany as a special request.

Welcome to my World was a mix I did about a year ago.....as far as the bass problem goes...I did notice that at the time.

I try to vary my style in mixes depending on how I feel at the time...even though I try tp plan a mix...pick tracks in advance...more often than not, I end up using different tracks as I go along if i'm in a particular mood.

This particular mix was done on computer...using MixMeister (I would ephasise that I NEVER use automated beatmatching on a computer, that's cheating:tongue3 )If I use a computer for mixing, it's almost always done in one session..same as live mixing (the only exception being, if it's for someone as a request, I like to perfect it then)

I used to DJ around 1987 - 1992 ish....got married, chucked it and got back into it again last year....so I had a 10 year gap.

I would be interested to hear your set...I will upload mine onto my site when the competition is over......

GOOD LUCK ;)

it's been my pleasure

I thought it was a pretty decent mix considering I absolutely abhor trance with vocals in it, and you used quite a lot of it. There were a few transitions that need some work, I'm not sure I can help you with which ones as I haven't heard most of these songs before.

Pretty good effort though. Nice to hear what someone else can do with MixMeister as I use that too.

edit: I listened to Welcome to my World V5

Cheers M8.....glad U liked it.

As mentioned earlier...this was done last year.....hopefully I've improved a bit since then..:D

What version of MM do U use??

TwoHardCore
I use MM 3, or I guess 3.1 with the patch.

I've noticed that they've done some nice updates to version 4, and I haven't even looked at their site in ages, can't afford to upgrade :(. I think I'd like to have the Pro version, but since I'm just a hobbyist I don't think it's worth the money. I think it's a great program, and it's apparently allowing hobbyists to make some really good mixes (such as you and I :)).

I'd be interested in hearing some of your other mixes too, maybe the one you're entering in the mp3 comp (after the judging is done).
TheMightyCad
I don't have a lot of server space at the mo..100mb....just enough for one mix, so I only put one up at a time.

I will be posting the new one (competition mix)on my site this week....probably on Wednesday/Thursday.
