okay.. i have this friend of mine.. he said he made this track,
and it sounded really good and , and he had it on cd so i took a
listen, and the track was pretty good.. he told this to all his friends, that he made this track and ... well, recently i got reason 2, and i was checking out the demo songs, and when i pressed "play" on unknown source-realization i immidiatly recognized
that song... like when i heard the first kick... so what this little
pecker had done, wasnt to just rip the melody or anything, he had just exported the track, and burned it out, and said it was his own
work... how low is this?? i told his best friend, and when he confronted him with this he denied it... until i met him @ school, and was like, "hey, unknown source... wassup?"... he totally blushed and walked away...

what i really want to know is, what can we serious producers do to
keep little ballsuckers like this guy from ripping of our work, wich we have putted our blood and sweat into???

Mail a copy of the track to yourself via registered mail. Then take him to court using the unopened mail. That would only be worth it if your signed IMO. You could also drop a hook in the track with your name in it.

not only useful if you're signed

Remember, if you put your track up for download for example here at TA, millions of people are at the opportunity to burn your track and try to get it signed undere their own name.

So, indeed burn the track and send it to yourself via ("aangetekende"..=?) mail and keep it closed. Buma stemra (dutch company that keeps track of copyrights and money) themselves advised this method, so I reckon it's valid.

Is it any help to put the song at mp3.com or some similar page? Would that be good idea for the copyright things?? Or is this just waste of time? :nervous:
