MP3 "splicer" software?

What's a good MP3 "splicer" (as I call it) software, you know the program that lets you cut up a set into individual MP3s. I'm making a CD of my most recent mix and would like to have track numbers for the tracks, however would like to keep the transitions smooth and such.

Personally i have always used nero, and from what i have heard you can actually mark out where your tracks are in one big file if you know what i mean, e.g you import a 80min live set and you place markers where the songs mix in and the cd is written so when you skip to the next track (marker) it will skip to there...i hope it helped just i cudnt get my words out :nervous:

here's an easier way than going through your entire mix and marking little flags (trust me i've done that on nero before)
you have your mix on mp3 , right? all you need to do is make a cue sheet!
you can use this one, and just replace the song titles, artists, and times. just play your mix on any mp3 player on your computer, and keep skipping forward till you get to the point the new track is beginning, and make a note of each time. just bring that time right over to the cue sheet for e/ appropriate track #.
you don't even need the titles or artists though.
then once you have that, (oh yeah, copy and paste this and make all your changes to it with notebook, it's under accessories in your computer) save it as either .txt (it will automatically do that) or .cue , same thing.
then you use a progream such as CDRwin and load your mix, and load your cue sheet. if there's any problems, i think the program will tell you what line has the error. as far as i know you can't use cue sheets with nero.
also if you use this quicker cue sheet method it will burn your cd without gaps, i know my cd burner will add gaps b/t e/ track when i tried to seperate the trax w/ nero.
