then again, I doubt they care...has not hurt their bank balances.

Okey...

Lets see if I get this stright.
If u remix a "pop" artist you'r selling out?

Do u think it hurts the dancemusic scene?
I don't, It gives the producer lots of exposure and offen alot of money.
I hear alot of ppl say that they only do it for the money.
Let's say that's the case, so ing what?
Nothing wrong with that!!
Tell me whats wrong with that and tell me why these guys become sellouts when they remix a commercial track.

Thank you! :wtf:

because most of the time sell-outs change their style just to please pop culture and its audience. that bothers true fans who miss their original style that made them so enjoyable in the first place. if that makes any sense...

although some of you are calling certain producers & djs sell-outs when really they're not. oakenfold definitely sold out, we all know it folks. come on, starry eyed suprise. helo

Almost every famous dj/producer did a remix for a non-dance artist. From that point of view only the sucking dj/producer from your local club is not a sell-out...

so? music is music. he would have sold out if he had made some poppy remix and played it on MTV....if i was a dj and heard a phat track that i knew would sound awesome remixed, then i'd do it. not everything has to be sooo underground without having the person "sell out." i don't even think PVD sold out. Oakenfold, god yes...tiesto, its debatable. but sander, no.

Start reading from the first page... I answered a guy's question asking why people say Sander sold-out.

i think it's a dumb thread

take junkie XL

Did a matrix song, did the elvis remix. does that mean he's a sellout for doing some MTV videos? no way! especially since he's doing (or did) that illegal spin until the cops stop him. Some people take the money and run. But there are people who will have the cash, but the talent to flash.

I thought about that too, when torontotrance mentioned that Oakie remixed Elvis. Big ing deal if they "sell out".

What would you all do if you were as popular as these artists and someone aks you to be in a commercial for something you really like? And don't tell me you all would say something like "Hell no, I don't wanna be some ing sellout like Paul Oakenfold", because you wouldn't.

she jumps in as usual...clueless you ask me

In my opinion

Sander has gone to remixing timberlake and madonna...two artists which i hate. Paul Oakenfold lost it years ago and his credibility when with it. Paul Van Dyk has also lost it and Tiesto is bent on being a huge popstar. Deep Dish has told ppl i know that they want to be huge in pop circles.

If an artist wishes to remix a pop act then fine but I lose interest for them.
