Recording Monitor Setup With PC - Need Help

I just bought some Alesis Monitor One Mk2's . I have linked the soundcard from my PC to the CD input of my amp. My speakers are then wired to the amp. I was wondering if this is the best setup to link the sound output of a PC to Monitors. What are the best settings for the Volume control in windows (Bass,Treble etc) so i can get a fair reflection of what the music i am producing sounds like.

I hope you are using a decent soundcard...
I would think that setting every band on the equalizer to the middle/neutral would be appropriate. |
