Hey all,
I'm looking at buying a new sound card.
Reason being, it seems that whenever i record the audio from my
synth onto my pc it ends up sounding quite bad. its hard to explain but basically the life is sucked out of the sound and leaves it sounding very very flat :(.
I was wondering if a better soundcard would do the trick, I am looking at a sound blaster audigy DE as my card of choice, I currently have a crappy vibra 128.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks!

A better sound card should do the trick. It made my synth recordings sound better when I upgraded.
I was looking into getting the audigy, but all the reviews I read suggested that it was not very good if you produce music. not the best quality for the price.
I ended up getting an M-Audio Delta 44 and I'm very satisfied with it. I recommend the delta series. |

| hey cheggy |
Get something with 24 bit. They tend to be better cards. The delta 44 is a good card, or if you want midi, then the audiophile is also a good selection, at a lower price, but only 2 in, 2 out. I don't think anyone here will stray you away from M-Audio products.

hey, thanks, the delta 44 looks pretty sweet
just one question which might sound stupid.
im confused about the input's in the breakout box, for example to hook the audio outputs from my synth into it, would it make sense to route the left channel output on the synth into input 1 on the box, and the right channel output on the synth the input 2 on the box?
thanks |

| yes, that's how it works. each input is mono, so you have to use two for a stereo signal. |
