ok, wanna know here how u guys mix either u home or in the club
i mean if u mixing with both headphones on your ears or only one.

i feel more dificulty to mix with one headphone on my ear in my bedroom [both is not a problem @ all] , but in the club monitor mixing with one headphone on my ear going fine.

is it the same with u guys?

About the same for me. I like to use split cue a lot when i play on a PA system though, which i don't use at home.

I use it stereo to beatmatch the tunes, but, when I bring in the incoming tune, u put it on split and then I only have 1 cup on my ear... kinda strange huh :)

i go back and forth on that. Sometimes when im mixing I have to take them off and i listen just to the monitor

Thats what I do.. I have it either 50/50 (cue/master) 60/40, or 40/60 ... But when I actually bring it in I have it 90/10 (cue/master) with one ear off.. I find it easier to have some of the live track in the headphones as well...

I wouldn't know about @ the club yet, but at a friend's party, I borrowed some1's equipment and DJ'd... while there I used one can at a time, unless it was 2 tough to beatmatch.
At home digital mixing, I use both always.
Can't wait till I get my TTs and mixer in the mail to reply about that.

At home I use one ear withthe track im cueing up playing and then listen to the song playing out loud. In a club it varies because it depends on weather there are monitoring speakers or not. IF there are, i will do the same thing. If there aren't i will keep the headphones on both ears and mix taht way.

Whats the way that most of the pros do it? (ie: whats the best way?)

Peace

I've never seen tiesto, armin, marco V... put on both cups, always just one. But that doesn't mean that that's the right way, doesn't matter how you do it, as long as it works. I beatmatch the songs with both cups on and both songs playing, when bringing in the cued track I remove one cup and listen how it goes, works for me.

I always keep both cups firmly on.. feel in total control then as i'm more likely to pick up a small slip quicker or towards the end of a mix with both my ears still alert.

Also strange i know, as nearly all the DJs i know and have seen always flick to one ear at some point.

at home and in the club i have beatmatched w/ about 50/50 for e/ channel in the phones. then when i want to intro the next track i only use one ear and the hp cue is turned all the way to the upcoming track.

i've seen pvd use both cups..everyone just has a different style
although i have heard that in a club w/ a loud pa system it's easier to beatmatch w/ one ear. i used to do that a long time ago, haha, but now i think it would be hard to go back to..

At home - headphones on until I'm almost through the whole mix..

at the club/party... barely use the headphones at all..one ear on till it's matched then don't really use it during the actual mix.
