Anyone heard this? One of my favourite short sets, that got me into trance in the first place.

A lot of ppl seem to diss Bexta (she's an Aussie Sydney-based DJ), but i've been impressed when I've seen her live - hard and banging and gets u moving. Nothing pretentious in her music, just stuff that makes u wanna move.

Not liking her latest Mixology 5 CD as much tho, but Mixology 1 is an all-time fav.

Bexta - Skirmish

01 - Decoder
02 - The Light
03 - Do You Dance?
04 - Check This Skirmish
05 - Non Stop, Let's Rock
06 - Make It Phunkee (Non Stop Radio Mix)

Yeh her Mixology 1 was bloody awesome, some nice epic trance on that, and disc 2 of it was uplifting Hard Trance like Dumonde...

I got a signed copy of her Mixology 4 which i won off the radio but i agree, her new style is my most hated style, techno or Hard Trance.

check out Bextas website

Some photos of this cutie.

The second photo next to Bexta is Mark Dynamix, a good Dj in Australia, but like Bexta, he changed his style to very bad electronica...check out his CD Peaktime...ing awesome trance.

I've got a burn of skirmish sitting around somewhere, i think the second half is a bit of a let down after the first half tho.

As a DJ people dis bek because she always plays the same set over and over. As a DJ her skills are excellent, but honestly you might as well just play the latest mixology as see her out because the track selection will be the same and the order wont differ much... I remember when mixology 2 came out i saw her like 3 times in 2 months and aafter the 3rd time i remember thinking 'im sure she played that exact set the last 2 times'.

Personally I think she's a better producer... altho her recent work is a bit lacking. Drum Beats Go is my fave hard house track ever and one for the road was also great, but musik makers was abit..hmm... soft... it felt like it was building up to somethign the whole song and just never got there.

LOL. are you serious?
have you even heard mark play more then a few times recently?

he hasnt changed his style to electronica. its just one of the styles he plays AT TIMES. mark is one of australia's most versatile djs. his sets vary from party to party and club to club.

he still pumps trance like ever before...
ure getting wrong info mate.

Which I can admire greatly... I love a some variety.

But it really bugs me sometimes when I go see a DJ live and I really wanna hear a style i'm in the mood for and you get something completely different - even the style, from trance to prog, to hard house to techno - you never know what they're gonna mixup live and it can be frustrating at times.

Although, as its been said, playing the same set over and over can get very boring and repetitive as well.

Indeed. Bexta has exceptional DJ-skills, but her tracklist selections are a bit of a letdown. :) Production wise, she is good. Not my style but top stuff nonetheless.

Woooah, that photo of Dynamix looks quite different to what he looks like now hehe. And yes, variety is the case indeed. He had a little vinyl sale a few weeks ago - I was browsing through he's collections and he had some pretty wicked diverse stuff, funky disco to trance to hardstyle to AMBIENT, MINIMALISTIC, EXPRIMENTAL STUFF :eyes: ! OMG! HECTIC! :eyes:
