out of body experiences

Awhile ago, there was a thread about lucid dreaming. At the time I thought that was really interesting, so I did a research paper about it. I came to find out that lucid dreams and out of body experiences are loosely related (you are fully conscious during both, while the physical body rests). The whole concept of the CONSCIOUS OOBE really intrigues me. Just like lucid dreams, you can train yourself to consciously project your astral body. I found a REALLY helpful/informative site, and if your are interested in this subject AT ALL I recommend that you read some of the how-toguides on this site. http://www.outofbody.co.uk I am pretty sure that there is a difference between astral projection and out of body experiences where astral projection is like a lucid dream where you can make things happen and OOBE'ing is just going places in a dream like state. Supposedly, there are different planes of existence that you can travel to depending on how 'good' you project

By the way, I am 99.9% sure that lucid dreams are not harmful at all, and they are actually beneficial, because while you lucid dream, the brain works more, which actually makes you rest better. also, if you don’t have a good social life/have problems with family etc, lucid dreams can be a fun escape and you can be superman in your own little world or whatever.

This is a bit off-topic but anyways... I've had some really interesting dreams during the last couple of years. In those dreams I gain divine abilities such as flying, levitation, telekinesis and telepathy. It's funny how the brain 'knows' what flying etc. things you have never experienced feel like. Or if I for instance in my dream concentrate hard enough I can levitate, swim at amazing speeds, run on water etc. I've also been shot at in my dreams and I actually felt/imagined the bullets although I've never been shot at in real life (I actually jumped 3 feet in my bed coz it "hurt" like hell). Strange.

With self-suggestion and concentration one is able to control dreams to some extent. In my experience, dreams are reflection and mixture of your latest and some old experiences in modified form. For example I've been in the army for the last 5 years or so in my dreams. I believe this is because I failed to get to the officer school (I'm sergeant in reserve) and my perfectionist nature punishes me over and over again at nights. :haha: Usually the links between dreams and reality aren't that obvious though. Books that 'explain what your dreams mean' are crap. Each person has his own book which is based on his own experiences and history.

I've also experienced OBE's a couple of times. They usually occur in very common situations such as when I'm just walking on the street. I think very hard about something and I just 'forget' that I'm walking... my mind drifts away from my body and sometimes I've been able to see myself from above. That's spooky. I also get that 'no matter who comes to run his mouth or bully at me now, I'll kick his ass' invincible moods during those OBE's.

In case you wonder, I haven't ever taken any drugs, hallucinogens or stuff that might cause these effects. Maybe I'm just nuts. :haha: :D

man i would so like to be able to watch myself!

not quite sure what OBE's are.

but often in school i go into my little own world, actually in there doing stuff, mostly fantasies, den someone will ask me something, den im like: oh sorry was day dreamin

also i can make myself see things, e.g my g/f dancing on top of the school building. lol

I read some of the diaries/journals on the Outofbody.co.uk, i cant decide if i find them interesting or just plain bollocks! It sounds cool, but i reckon it could be pretty scary as well.....it also sounds a bit like what some people report the effects of acid to be like :D
