Will trance ever replace hip-hop?

I listen to nothing but when I'm by myself, but when I'm with friends, it's all hip hop. Not too many peeps around here are into trance like we are I guess. So anyway, my question is, do you think trance will ever replace rap/hip hop in the US and other commercialized countries?

U dont want trance to take over hip hop...then you'll get p. diddy getting into electronic music  ....oh wait!...that has already happened :nervous: ......but seriously i dont think trance will ever get as big ass hip hop in the states.

How can a completely different genre take the place of another...?

Accept it for what it is.. they each have their own cultural tie-ins with hip-hop FAR exceeding trance in that area...

You're not going to see a bunch of teens who think they're thugs walking around listening to pvd

(now don't go ranting on me saying I think all ppl who listen to hiphop are thugs...thats not true.. but any music that has lyrical content that helps one vent against society/the state of the world is embraced by rebellious youth (a-la punk/heavy metal/rock of old))

I don't want it to get bigger than hip-hop here in the states because then it won't be my music. I love being able to play something that nobody else is playing and that is pretty much unique. If trance replaces hip-hop then every thug who was sporting baggy pants and 50 cent shirts will be wearing Paul Van Dyk shirts and you won't be able to find people 'in da club' but 'in Ibiza, raving', and that will eventually lead to trance becoming too mainstream to the point where it sucks.

i agree with mto.... playing the stuff i play and getting people into it is part of the experience.... if everyone likes it and know all the tunes... then us Tranceaddicts wont be the special group of people who we are... we'd just be part of the rest of the herd.... heheheh... i like feeling special and being in a minority.. especial when the minoriy is the best at what they do ^_^ music... cuz trance muzic is L33T! ^_^
