caring for my vinyl

Hello everyone,

I am a bedroom CD DJ w/ a small collection of vinyl. I dont have turntables yet but I am slowing building a collection of records that I like. I've noticed over the past few months that some of my records have gotten alittle bit of dust on them from just hanging around my room. Also i just bought a copy of Perception online and it has a little spot of something on one side of it. This may seem like a stupid question but how do you clean your records? Do they make lint bushes for vinyl? I've seen this stuff called groove-glide; whats that stuff all about? How durable is the average vinyl record? Can you gently scrape it with your finger nail or with that scratch it? Aside from Perception none of my records are all that rare but i still dont want to mess them up. Thanks in advance.

I just bought one myself, does a great job of keeping your records clean. Thats pretty much all you need unless you wanna buy a stylus care kit.

I personally would say that they are possibly less fragile than CDs.

Make sure they are kept cool.

I once had the unpleasent experience of
waking up after a heavy night out to find about 30 records sitting next to a fan heater.

You dont what you've got until its gone. we had the service and burial for all 30 that day at the bottom of the garden.

Tragic!

I now use a glasses cleaner cloth. I found an unused on in its package. i figure that if it wont scratch the lenses of a pair of glasses it wont scratch my vinyl.

Will this work?:)
