Dude, just shut up. I'm tired of your "democrats can't speak" mentality. Seriously just go back to that hole where you came from.:whip:

Uncalled for. To begin with, this company is not associated with the democratic party in America. And I do not think that sp0k4ne is saying that democrats can't speak. I'm sure that he would act the same way if the tables were turned in terms of administrations. I see sp0k4ne (at least in this particular thread) as someone who is rushing to the aid of the country instead of its incompetent leader.

But he's saying there shouldn't be freedom of speech just so that something like this advertisement could not occur.

I saw this report about CBS recently...

A reporter from them found out that a big US-corporation used sweatshops in Vietnam to make their products...

-unbelievable working conditions!
-childs were used as workers - for very low wages.
-they were told they would be killed if they join the union...

When this become public, ppl were starting to get angry, so (I think) in 1995 this big corporation told the media they won't use people under 16 anymore... only using factories with good working conditions...

A few years later they were in Bangladesh...

-using children again - this time even cheaper (8-18cents/hour)
-they had to work for 12-16 hours a day / 6-7 days a week

The reporter who investigated the case started to sue the firm for lying to the media (...as if using children under these conditions is less evil...)

But there was nothing to be found out about what CBS and this corporation arranged - even for the CBS-reporter!

A short time later, she was "asked" to quit her job...

Another short time later, all the CBS-reporters had logos from exactly THIS corporation on their clothes...

I can't understand how big (basketball e.g.)-stars can help such corporations to sell their products without puking the whole night!

When I see young people (children) wearing clother from this corporation - it makes me so angry!

This is all soo sick!

And here's what I wanna say - everyone can do something! Stop buying shoes for 100$ children made for 10cents an hour!

Don't wear their suffering on your back!

A very easy start - even for lazy people!

here some good links:

If you wanna know which corporation I was talking about - It's the one on TOP of the list on the first link!

http://www.michaelmoore.com/ <- Any1 here who already read "Stupid white men" or have seen "Bowling for Colombine" ?

I'm really interested what other people think about his work!

Peace!

Who told u this? Are you in the CIA or something? Or is this what you hear in your media?

Hmm... maybe it IS all bull (he got an oscar for it...), but this man kinda opened my eyes... and what I see (even in german) TV nowadays is even worse! And so much he is talkin about makes so much sense...

The report about this corporation should have been in the news everywhere - but I have never heared about it... The media only covers what is good for profit... I'm sure they didn't want to blame themselves for making ads for such bastards.

Even if This corporation I talked about may be "clean" from sweatshops now (I doubt it) - even the fact that they DID in the past (1995 is NOT too long ago) should stop people from bying their product - thats my understanding!

You may hate Michael Moore - but even the fact that we are discussing / arguing here about his work is kinda good I think!

Did u read his book? Some interesting facts in it you can check out for yourself! (good source-collection @ the end)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he has a new movie coming out about the Bush administration, and it's being endorsed by Disney.

his book Stupid White Men, is very excellent, quotes from so many different sources as well.

About the Ad in the NY times, I think its about time people wake up and realize that there country is stealing there rights, freedom of speech is non-existant and that killing others and enforcing your idealogy and values on others is ALWAYS wrong, even in the name of homeland security. what the U.S did in invading Iraq is simply Pre-emtpive terroism, all in the name of what? I'm still waiting for them to find the WMD.
