Ì am planning on buying : behringer ub2442fx pro

but I have a question...
from the photo it seems that it only has mono inputs, why is that so?
anyway, do you think it is a good mixer to use for my small home-studio?

Looks like it has 4 stereo inputs to me. Besides, even if it didn't, you could use the mono's for your synths. You just have to use 2 monos, of course, and make sure you pan one channel left and one right. There is no difference between this and going into the stereo inputs.

By the way, I just got a UB1622FX and I like it a lot. You have more subouts on that mixer which is great. Hope you have a multi in/out soundcard, that would work well with that mixer.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm just now figuring mine out and would be glad to help. :)

if not, what card do you suggest me to buy?

hey cheggy
channels 1-8 are mono, or 4 stereo if you plug left into one and right into another. Channel 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and 15/16 are stereo channels.

I think so. The 6 ins are nice. This way you can use your subouts optimally. What I mean by that is in my case, I have 1 subout going into my 2 in audiophile. So, when I record to hard disk all of the audio is sent on the one channel creating one audio track. In your case, you will have more than one subout sending to several different inputs creating several audio tracks. The obvious benefits are you can process each track seperately (setting levels, effects, compressors, whatever).

Mulitple outs on your soundcard aren't as important in your case but would still be useful (processing soft synths with hardware effects and other reasons).

That Emagic will do the trick. I don't know how much they are, but just to let you know, the respectable M-Audio Delta 1010 is going for around $320.00 on Ebay. It is 8 in / 8 out if you don't count the spdif connectors. The DACs are great and it isn't USB (which from what I've read is a slight advantage.

Good luck.;)
