Hi all,
I'm having these awefull strange problems here:
I'm getting plops and distorted sound over my headphone and monitors,..
-Needles are new and I have tried other ones I borrowed and adjusted correctly.
-Mixer is not too old and I have tried another new one
-It's all grounded
Sometimes it's alright for 30 min and then it suddenly begins.
What can be the problem, it's making me very very unhappy!!
Hope you can help me!!
Greetings,

It really does sound like an internal error with your Mixer. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear...
The wiring between the tables can also affect how it sounds...so check those next time you're spinning. |

| Err...well, that's about as much help as I can give. Sorry. The best thing that you could do now is either wait for a reply from other TA members or go to a Music store and talk to someone who could figure out what's going on with those funky noises. |

well ok let's see... you get the distortion from both headphones and monitor right? make sure it's not your monitor (like if you are using a stereo...and if you hearing it in your monitor that the problem must not be in your headphones. it must not be in your mixer, if you bought a new one and you get the same problem.
check that your dex are set to the correct voltage and grounded. also i would run a test on each turntable. just keep playing records on one tt for a while, see if you get the distortion. hopefully the problem is only coming from one.
if it is, check your cartridge. (headshell)...this is where the sound is taken from the vibrations the needle causes...
hope that helps...but yeah for dj ?s it helps to post in the dj forum :)
ah one more thing...check your rca cords that connect your turntables to your mixer. perhaps something is wrong with one of the cords. |

Hi,
Well, the thing is, it's been working for 2 years now, and i'm having problems since last week.
Both decks are giving the distorted sound :(
The RCA cords should be alright, they are stuck to the SL1200 so that can't be the problem i guess..
