There is Rebirth wich has a 909 and 808 emulation.
I combine the Waldorf Attack and samples. With the Attack you can program 909 kicks and claps for example, but it is actually possible to make a lot of different drum and percussion sounds.
The Drumatic is a bit like the Attack, but making percussion is a bit more limited. http://www.e-phonic.com It's free.
You can also use the Dr008 from Fxpansion wich can provide the sounds you want.
Linplug has a new drumsynth b.t.w.
Samples seem the most appropriate in your case. |

There's rebirth, although I'm not really a fan of the 909 in it. If you want to actually make the beats, then Waldorf attack. If you just want to use sampled kicks and percussion, then get a sampler like Halion or Kontakt. There is also Battery, which is a drum machine I think, or maybe its just a percussion sampler. I'm not quite sure. I'd suggest playing around with attack and samples to see what works best for you and to get you started on making your own beats. |
