same here...i had a monster set planned, but i never got around to getting it PERFECT hehehe...i figured though...i wouldn't want to gain "fame" from a contest like this simply because i really don't think that'll MAKE you a DJ...really winning would just give you all the vinyl and toys that they offered...i mean seriously...winning this comp isn't gonna make you tiesto #2. i'd rather get there through other means... |

so jon got started winning an internet radio contest?? i don't know...thats just how i would think things would work...i mean...people will always consider you the guy that won that contest...i don't know maybe i'm wrong |

OBir is an amazing DJ, when I heard he had won a contest in the past that shot him up, I just thought "Ah" then shrugged it off. Talent shines through all the bull.
Plus, why not just do it for fun? That's the only reason I did it, I'm not seeking fame or anything heh. :o |

O'Bir started by winning the 'MixMag' (Music Magazine) competion which the prize was a set at 'Passion', in the UK. Passion is up there with Crasher and Gods Kitchen with the DJ's they book and the style of club. Jon got the warm up set one night, i went to that gig, and there also was some Gods Kitchen headhunters. After his set, Jon was approached by Gods Kitchen and was offered a residency by them. Jon accepted. Jon doesnt actually work for Gods, but for a DJ'ing agency and is free to play for anybody, but Gods book him on a regular basis.

If you read my original post, it says post your PREVIEW tracklistings. The reason is not because I have uber cool top secret tunes in the last half of my mix, but because just in case some miracle happens and I do get selected, Id like my mix to have some element of anticipation for people to hear. Posting my first 5 tracks was just so you can get a feel for what my style is. |
