i did a search but didnt find anything on them so here goes.
ive been debating weather to buy cd decks alot lately. ive been trying to talk myself out of it, one reason is because im a vinyl junkie and the other reason...... i really cant afford them. but today i decided to get some. and im not looking back. i was searching for a while and came accross the Numark CDN36, they arnt too expensive and sound like they have of nice features for the price, and one thing that caugt my eye, acording to HTFR it has "True buffered instant start time". which sounds good :) so i was wondering if any of you guys have used them and what you think about them. or even recomend something better. but i cant afford CDJ1000s or the denon deck so dont say them ;) thanx in advance :)
Also you can check them out

Why don't you get the CDJ100s.. decent machine...
I wouldn't go for dual decks... they're usually not that easy to use as the single players. |

I have the Pio CMX-3000s (chose it over the Denon 2600 and the Numark CDN88). It's an awesome unit, no complaints here.
All I can really suggest to you is this: Instead of taking other ppl's advise on units, you should go to a shop and play with the units you're interested in for yourself. |

that's true... but, I used to do that too, I found a unit I REALLY REALLY liked (Now I know it was the CDJ1000) but, when I looked at the price, I realised I was never gonna have it :(
(a sad storry isn't it?):D |

pretty much everyone wants atleast 1 cdj1000 in their setup. but once reality sets in, then you look for more feasable alternatives. for me it was the cmx3000... the closest thing to a cdj1000 in a dual deck :) |

| My major problem with dual-decks is that if one deck breaks, the whole unit needs to be sent in to be repaired.. Get two seperate units.. Much easier to fix, plus IMO theres a better range of individual cd decks than duals... |

I have a bit of experience with dual CD players. I started off with the American DJ Pro200 MKIIs. They did me good for almost 1.5 years. However, the lack of a jog wheel got to me. So, very recently I upgraded to the Numark CDN88s. And I love them!! I'm not sure if the CDN36s have effects but it looks very much like the CDN88. I also debated whether to go in for table top ones or not. I prefer to mount them onto the DJ case so I can take them with me in one convenient setup that includes the mixer.
I hear the argument about having to send the entire unit in if it breaks down. But those are the assumed risks. Frankly if I had to compare CD dual decks to CD players I'd compare the CMX3000/5000s to the CDJ 1000s. Numarks can't be compared in the same category.
Instead of ordering them online buy them from a local retailer since they also match the best price out there. Also, if you don't like them say in the 2 weeks you have them you can always return them at no charge.
Good luck! |
