I'm about to buy new turntables
but i don't know which ones are good, i'm now between the stanton str8-80, the gemini pt-2100, or the gemini sa-600.
i'm starting into spinning because i had work all this time with cd decks so please help me in all this stuff.

My advice : gemini pt-2100

i recommend technics sl 1200 mk2

Neither one! Hold out for some Technics 1200s. The ONLY way to go.

I guess I'd be pretty insane to tell you not to try to save up for 1200's -- everyone else does. I can't really recommend any of the models you mentioned over one another since I haven't used them all, but I will tell you about the Stanton STR8-80's... seeing as I have a pair.

I got them as a gift a week to ten days ago. As far as I can tell, they're pretty decent. They work. They're rugged, they're direct drive, they have resonable start/stop times, etc. I've noticed the key correction is kinda lacking (perhaps that's made worse by my ting mixing though) but that's about all I can say negativley about them.

The arguement to save for 1200's is pretty valid, but if you're not going that route, and the STR8-80's are in your price range, I'd recommend them.

I would say to go for the pt-2100's, they should give you more torque and stability than the sa-600 or the str8-80.

i was really close to buying the str8-80s...but i thought about it...and waited a bit more and saved up for technics...it was worth it...i think u should save up for the technics...

Dude...save up your money and get tech's. Whatever the price difference is between the ones you are looking at now and tech's is worth the time to save.

tech 12s are for rookies, go with the str8-80s

But I really dont know if i need the Technics 1200's.
Im strating in spinnig. So I really don't know a lot of this stuff.
Do you think that 1200's are good for strating???

If you really want to be a DJ, the tech's are an industry standard, playing a club or a rave, you might as well learn on what you will be using.:D
