Why are Cops so stupid ! there piss me off. (pg. 5)

Here's what I don't get ... why did this thread even take a turn towards the whole "america is so oppressive" diatribe once again? Let's take a tally of the incidents shared about cop stories:
Australia: Cop pulled DJ Rozzer over for having fog lights on ... presumably gets fine.
Ireland: Dublin Guy gets arrested for loitering because friend was laughing at cops. Gets thrown in cell with pedophile.
Finland: Nicke gets pulled over for failing to make right turn signal ... later gets fined for flicking off a cop
Sweden: chjo gets liscence pulled 5 times ... for minor offenses that cops like to pull him over for.
Norway: cops don't investigate crime because busy watching soccer ... fine people for pissing and puking in street though.
Slovenia: Moongoose's friend gets arrested because protested cop hitting his car.
Brazil: Cops take bribes ... deal drugs ... some involvment with gangs
US: Fuct4less s with and confuses cops when they pull him over.
Clyde76 gets pulled over but let go ... cops thought he was a criminal they were looking for ... mistaken identity.
DJDankPoo gets a fine for lighting off fireworks
Conclusion: Americans are attention whores and like to complain. Let's revert the conversation back to cop incidents.
At any rate, my one run-in with a cop was during senior prank in highschool. My friend and I, drove his car onto the school football field and baseball diamond and started taking pictures of the car on the pitchers mound, pull donuts on the 50 yard line, etc. This highschool is in the middle of town mind you ... yes not the smartest thing to do. So anyway, we had our fun and are about to leave ... we're driving on the grass of the football field to get back to the parking lot, and we see a cop pull into the parking lot. He shines that big ass spotlight at us and tells us to drive on over to him. Then, 3 other cop cars pull in and my friend and I are ting our pants. So these 4 or 5 cops are standing around us kind of talking amongst themselves and asking us what we're doing, whether we've been drinking, doing drugs, and start asking one another out loud what they should do with us, etc. We just explain that it's a prank ... so they then tell us that the principle of the school is coming over right now (it's 3am) and that they're going to bring us down to the police station. And my thinking is --> EXPULSION. But in the end they just start asking us wierd questions like whether we know the theme song to gilligan's island, our school song, etc. They are clearly just ing with us and having a good time and they eventually let us go telling us to stay out of trouble ... they were pretty cool. Anyway that's all ... real exciting as you can see. |

| I dunno, I totally agree with all the cop haters in the world. Especially around here, in a small town where they have nothing else to do. Teenagers who like to have a good time are their main target. Its unbelieveable how many people get busted for smoking marijuana in their vehicles. Around here, there's a lot of country roads, and people go to secluded areas where no one else is around to do burns and such. No one is causing any havoc, just chilling with friends. Little do they know, a police officer saw them driving off, and follows them, just to bust them. I really think that they abuse their authority too much. and the sad thing is, they KNOW they can get away with it, because its always your word against their's. |

very true DeE420, if your not hurting anyone else, then why not just leave people the hell alone? because they like to abuse their priveledges. i learned this one many years ago:
priveledge + power = racism
...and it doesn't matter if your white, black, indian, asian, old or young, i'm talking about the kind of racism where someone believes they are dominant and you are subordinate. last time i checked the cops were human too, in fact i bet they have done some of the same things they have harrassed people over. Not only the cops but the goverment itself. But because of their new found power and priveledge, they just can't handle themselves rationally. It gets to their head and it corrupts them. We need people who can practice tolerance and judgement as normal human beings and not people who want to live out power trips.
Flec says: "if you dont want to follow the laws, GET THE OUT OF THE COUNTRY THAT HAS THEM." I'm sure this is what the founding fathers of the constitution had to say to their fellow citizens who wanted a say in how THEY would be governed considering THEY are the ones who are supposed to be creating the laws.

We have more deaths from violent crimes than any other country, i think it was something like the #2 highest deaths was 400 and then the #1 US was like 1,600. As in the "success" we've had in the war on Iraq? I mean how many people domestic and foreign are still waiting for some valid reasons behind overtaking the whole of another country (read: oil = commercial and material gains) This has happened before. Who are you to say that foreign people want to come to our country and support this kind of activity? The thing is that we DO realize how lucky we have it, but refuse to be a pawn in the system, because these days we are losing more and more of our so called "freedom." So if you like things the way they are headed so much then maybe you should leave our country. Go somewhere you can live in a police state with you as the subordinate and the dominant watching your every single move, public and private, judging, discriminating, telling you what you can do becuase if you haven't realized it yet this is where we are slowly progressing toward.
My intent is not to make anyone upset so please don't reply cussing me out and all that, but I would like to hear everyone else's ideas on this pro or con. I just want to be sure that you are aware of whats happening. This isn't only the US guys, this is THE WORLD. When is there a point where the old rulers of a corrupt society die off and younger, more open minded leaders step forward realizing if we don't eliminate divisions we are going to destroy each other?

once again, smoking marijuana is illigal, if you smoke it the cops have every right to bust you STOP BITCHING< there are other ways for teenagers to have fun then to resort to drugs and alcohal.
if you want to be able to smoke weed without riskin gettin caught move to holland, its that simple |

ya, i can really imagine the poverty of the world risking the life of themselves, their family and loved ones to enter a country other than america. Yes, I know that there really are countries that people want to flee to, just to get away from their homeland. They might want to go to France, England, Japan, etc. But where does everyone ultimately point to expand their life but America. Why? How about the 200 years of continuous success as a superpower for the world, a consitution that gives us freedoms in the safest and fairest way as voted by The People, and decided by other people to respresnt The People. How about the fact that u can start anywhere and become a success in matters of months because of the DEDICATION and STREGNTH, as of what has built the US into what it is today.
I see u are turning a blind eye to all that america has done for other countires such as liberation, trade, and an alliance of security for those who side with the United States and share our intrests of freedom and true justice. Without us, many countries would simply collapse economically. And what happens to countries that FAIL? They themselves, the people of these countries, decide to fight with themselves as to who truly owns the land and bam, another war.
And then of coures, u will criticize that America stepping in international affairs like a school teacher in a fight. Two choices. America will step in and TRY a resolution to prevent war and blooshed, of course, women and children included in the casualties. Or, we can simply let them kill each other, which of course promotes war. Are u for or against war in this world? Should we step out of bosnia, iraq, liberia, all of north africa, suadi arabia and egypt included, and just let war go rampant around the world? It's costing the US BILLION of dollars to promote world peace because idiots want to raise an AK instead of a raisng a foundation for a hospital, library, school, A GOVERNMENT.
About Iraq: How come we didn't take the oil in the first war on Iraq?
When did we bomb them? DURING THE NIGHT, when everyone is in their residential neighborhoods asleep. Did we go in and start bombing people's houses on purpose?
...and on CNN i saw Iraqis giving thanks to the american soldiers. I'm sure that must've been reverse psychology and they actually hated the american soliders because they killed their hero Saddam and his men of honor, rite? |

Slain- you have put forth good points and i agree with most of what you have said. the problem i think is where to draw the line. do you not feel that most of the wars we have entered and attempted to start "liberation and peacekeeping" missions in are countries in which we could or have benefited through some hidden motive which is usually resources? we the citizens usually hear on the news "to liberate the people, to spread peace, to stop violence etc etc" but do you doubt at all that there is oil related plans behind involvement in afghanistan and iraq? we can at the whim squeeze off trade and commerce with other countries and like you say they would fall to pieces. this is a situation in which we put those countries right where we want them. they are forced to comply in a way, wouldn't you agree?
other than that i think no matter how hard we try, human nature will prevail. people will kill each other over resources and holy lands etc etc until (1) they are all gone OR (2) until they look inside themselves and decide to elimate the divisions they have created inwardly and outwardly (which would hopefully be the result.) either way they should decide for themselves. we do provide great security for nations that side with us willingly or unwillingly, but this is obviously just creating more and more divisions. there is always going to be someone who rejects one divison and sides with another. by creating these divisons, the problem is deepening. we may have created peace and free trade in one nation, but as a result someone new will now despise us. there is always someone else waiting to step up to the forefront. this is why i made the reference to "where to draw the line." don't you think that eventually we could invade EVERY country for some odd reason or another? i don't know how to answer these questions but i don't believe that stepping in and saying "ok this is how we are going to fix your problems" in the big brother sort of way is solving everything. you present very valid ideas i'm just in the gray area about what the goverment tells us its doing and what the goverment is actually doing. in theory much of what we have done is great, but is the theory the same as the actual? all this and i'm not even the political type. for example:

but getting bitched at for foglights? wtf? foglights are supposed to point at THE GROUND so you can see in the fog. why that would be illegal, i dont know, but if i got pulled over for that id be very very disgruntled for him wasting my damn time. maybe im confused here |

| Well as much as i know in most countries the use of fog lights is forbiden unless the visibility is poor. Here you can only turn them on if youn cant se futher than 50 m ahead. Now usualy the cops dont mind but some are real s about it. |

Wanna hear a good cop story....Last night after the club all these fights broke out in the street. Blood everywhere. LIke 10 cop cars flood the streets from all direction. Then this big fat guy and his gf are trying to get out of the way of a cop car trying to leave and what does he do? He runs them over. The guy was taken to the ambulance cuz the cop car ed up his leg and as for the GF I dunno.
