ok heres my problem, my headphone input on my pioneer djm500 has just ed up  when i listen to a track through my headphones i get no bass at all the volume output is low etc etc. now i took apart the mixer took a look at the input to see if its burnt out or somthing. what i found was that the actual thingy (dont know that name for it sorry) has worn out alot. the mixer is about 2-4 years old(i bought it second hand, i have had it for about a year now havent had a prob with it till now) im a lil annoyed cause i really love this mixer. now is there anyway i can get a replacement part for this so i can change them. if i cant are all these parts basiclly the same? cause i can easily just rip one out of an old amp or somthing and do a quick job with the soldering iron. anyone else has this problem and know of an easier solution (other than taking it somewhere to get repaired im poor and can barely afford to buy records atm)

thanks.

what "thingy" are you talking about...can you post a picture?

i cant find any pics cause i doubt there is any. but i will try explain. the problem is inside the actual headphone input, inside there is a small brass/gold(not sure) cushion thing that touches the headphone jack when your headphones are in. now the problem is this lil cushion has been worn out alot. and so because of this i think that there is alot of electric thingys(heh forgot the name for it) not being tranfered from the mixer into the headphones. hence the loss of bass etc. but the wierd thing is when i put my it in mono mode i get loads of bass and barely any mid or highs at all but when i put it in stereo mode i get loads of highs n mids but no bass. :conf: hope my lil explanation sorta made any sense.

this is also doing my head in because i use my headphones for production and its a pain in the ass to have to connect my headphones directly into my delta breakout box.

thanks........

it sounds like soemthing else would be wrong becuause that does not sound like a loose/worn connection. i kno wyou can get new headphone hacks anywhere like radioshack or online... they have things like this... this probably isnt the exact part thats in your mixer but its probably not too hard to find..

usually loose/worn connections like that sound staticky and when you move it around sometimes it will be loud and other times it will just be off. but i may be wrong too...sorry : \ i know that didnt help much

yup thats the one. but yer not exact part. it got a plastic housing. it is loose but its always been like that never had a prob. i still have a feeling its just worn out. i do take out my headphones and put em back in alot. not sure about how much use the guy before me gave it. thanks for your reply dude. i take a look around tandy(radio shack) and the other stores around.
