which is the best styli for recording?

at the moment i simply use "shure whitelabel" for recording aswell as spining normally.

would it make any differences to the sound quality if i used a "elliptical styi" instead (for recording only)

whats the diff? i want every single piece of instructment and sound out of each and every record i spin ;)

cheers

Elleptical styli have an oval shape where spherical ones have a more round shaped needle. For quality purposes, the elleptical wins.

Elleptical styli

also wears out your records faster ;)

the reason i asked was, i was just wondering does it make a big diff?

Elleptical styli: i would assume it does not boost up any frequency but leave them all flat.

where as some spherical ones would make the low frequence (bass) sound deeper, louder heavy or lighter etc....

hope im thinking the right way
but im not too sure.
