If you play Counter-Strike, well you know that the 1.6 beta has been available to certain people that are signed up with several online websites like GameSpot, FileShack, IGN, etc...Well, it is now open to the public.
The Steam Beta is entering its final phase, and is now open to the public. To enter this beta, simply download and run the 500K installer. Steam, a broadband platform for the delivery and management of digital content, currently features a variety of Valve games including Counter-Strike 1.6, which introduces the new riot shield, the official CS bot and more. Doesn`t look like they`re gonna bother with a patch anymore. I think they intend on releasing all further multiplayer and mod updates and download via the steam engine. sux eh.
Gotta admit.... I really like the ease of use and in-game menus. Connect times are way too long though. |

| usually these easy update managers are slow to :( old style patch system when you download patch from somewhere from net is much better , at least i think so :) |
