I'll call 911 if it's as bad as last year. I should be able to go to a party like that and feel safe. I can't believe people aren't backing me up on this one....it was ING DANGEROUS in there last year!! If there had been a fire.....that's it...1000 people dead just like that. It's already happened in....Chicago was it? 90+ people died because of a fire and over crowdedness. I cant handle Tiesto crowds (though they're annoying), but Labour of Love last year was insane and very unsafe. I guarantee the fire department would have had a ing field day with it. The ideal crowd for me was Ferry last March...place cleared right up after 4:30am, lots of room. But I expect it to be packed...but they just went way too far last year and if they don't smarten up this year, they'll be in deep . Trust me on that one.

....All the people that complain and bitch and moan all the time on this board decide not to show up, we'll all have more room to dance and enjoy the end of Summer...Luv it or hate it, it's going ot be rammed to the limit, sweaty, full of heat and hate...Skitchiness to the maximum and a lot of other things that's a part of it...so Stay home and feel "SAFE"

Granted that event was a disaster, but believe me when I tell you that sort of thing will never ever happen again! and that's from the source..
So shut up and dance.....;) ;) ;)

Trust me ... you might as well stay home. This yr will be even more rammed then last yr.

I think they will add Breaks to the line up

If Ferry is in town, then I'm going so bullocks to the both of you that think I'm bitching. Ramming in over 9,000 people into a venue that can barely fit 5,000 with every room open is nuts. But they did it and are lucky nothing happened.

I don't mind a packed house.....the Docks was packed for Tiesto and it didn't bother me at all. but Labour of Love was a ing inexcusable joke. I hope they learned their lesson and I hope you're right Shaya, even though you seem to think I'm being a whiner.

ok first of all i agree...last year labour of love was maybe a tad bit dangerous...*laff*....

but regulars to the guv since then will agree with me when i say theres been a dramatic increase in the quality of the staff, the organization of the big events and the professionalism shown by everyone workin there...(i think i repeated myself..meh)....

when the lights went out on the brazilian night, that coulda ALSO been very dangerous but the staff was brilliant keeping perfect control at ALL times. Another example would be the movement between Guv and Koolhaus just this last sat at ultraspin 2...usin the outside as a walkway between the guv and the koolhaus keepin the traffic flowing one way. That night was a particularly HOT one outside and yes there was a few too many people in there and that didnt help matters...what really got to everyone was the lack of organization in the movement between rooms...there was no flow.

i seriously doubt thats gonna happen again judging from the experiences of the last year. The Guvernment is a WORLD CLASS complex for a reason and its growing in stature and fame with every passin event.

so bring your dancing shoes....
cuz i wanna hear

well said..i was there at teh Marca Bavaria party and a night that shouldve been total chaos was handled pretty well.

IMO, they have now set standards for the all access parties which is why there are no complains about other parties such as ultraspins, i dream, when ferry was here in october etc. I think Guv learnt from their mistake at the labour of love and adapted to keep up their reputation as one of the best clubs in Toronto.

however..the only beef i have with them is the outrageous drink prices....:whip: :whip: :whip: BAHHHH

Smitty, you're totally contradicting yourself.

You can go, and promise to leave if it's unsafe, but the truth is that something could happen as you're on your way to the door. Then you're in for it just as much as every other punter in the place.

Last year, the police stood outside, not even taking notice. The fire marshalls and police were paid off - however, if 911 was called separately, and the incident still wasn't investigated after a call was dispatched, then some questions would be raised. Someone should have done this! (I wasn't there.)

You just can't trust Guv security, and the police they have by, to keep you safe.

Labour of Love last year was my first party after turning 19, and it was crazy!

the 2hr wait even with tickets, the mass amount of people! damn. :eyespop: . I remember tryign to get to the guv from the orange room, the hall got soo packed and stopped, they bouncers had to send us back.

it was too crazy last year.

hopefully they will put some kind of cap for this year.
