Let's say I'm interested in doing an ID Conest thread, and the top 3 finishers win money ... can I just ... post it? LOL. Or do I have to win an ID contest? :nervous: Cause though I got over 10,000 songs and tons of CDs, I dont think I can win a contest, cause most of my electronica music is big names and often I see people's sigs say "Fav Track is ____" and its like a song that I never heard ... :nervous:
By the way, I haven't started it, but I am thinking of doing a dance music classics, including dance, trance, some psy and techno classics and big hits from early-late '90s. At least many of you people will be able to get at least a few right! |

I think Rising already won the contest once, so maybe he won't mind if you did the next one (if he wins of course :D). But in either case, I think it's better if you wait a few days, until this one is over, just so we don't have 2 contests at the same time. (I saw this on another forum and it gets quite confusing)
You said the top 3 finishers win money... can you explain that a bit more? |

OK, first of all, I wont have it ready for another month cause I am quite busy this month and my PC is not doing too well right now. However, I am thinking of doing 10-20 second samples of 50 dance/trance/techno/psy tracks for the 90s that were somewhat popular and, after hopefully finding a host (that's gotta be a tough one, LOL) the Contest will run a week or two, depends when the Canadian Army will want to call me up. The top 3 finishers will receive monetary prizes (I will pay CASH ONLY, so you gotta be in Southern Ontario-Hamilton/Toronto area on a designated day):
First Place: 30 bucks
Second Place: 15 bucks
Third Place: 5 bucks
I will do this contest eventually, but hopefully sometime soon, so this is just a suggestion and doesnt mean that I'll do it right away, cause like I said I am kinda busy right now. What do you people think>?

though it seems you have good intentions, dunno really if the winners getting paid is a good idea.. we do this just for fun.. to find new tunes. breaking the rules is so easy and so difficult to detect people could cheat to get $$$ very easily. it could cause un-necessary fights here.. even if some people here would like the idea, f'king trance encyclopedias :p
also i think it'd be better to keep the cycle of the winner posting the contest, than someone coming up suddenly and doing it.. but that's my opinion
seems like Rising can start preparing the new one, it'll be very hard for someone to beat him |

| Rising won the contest, it's his right to host the next competition. He should get to pick the songs and organize everything his way. |
