I think the kick sounds kinda muddy, I can't quite tell for sure whats goin on with the kick because I'm at work and all I have is computer speakers here, not horrible ones but compter speakers none the less. Some of drums seem kind off during the begining leading up to the first break. I like the sweeping synth sound during the break and the "poppy" percusion doesn't sound to bad. Whoa! those notes after the break are all off, You got that tug boat kinda sound coming in over that melody and it's really clashing with the notes of the melody. The delay on the percusion is used a bit too much. Maybe try and write the notes out rather than using the delay to get the extra percusion. Sounds kinda abstract in a way rather than progressive.
Keep working on it, maybe get into some music theory to start getting those notes right.
Just my opinion pls don't take it personally, I'm only trying to help. ;) |

| :) thanks for the honest feedback. i wanted the kicks like that kinda helps set the mood imo anyway :tongue2 . yea the notations of cello sound i made are all wrong i know still working on that bit. i was just messing with the delays (i was to lazy to sequence them in at the time it was like 4 in morning when i made this after all:rolleyes: ) thats probably why they sound off. but yea all in all im happy with it seeing as though its the first thing i put a bit of effort into :. not bad for seeing as though ive only been producing for a couple of months. |

| just fruity atm, still teaching myself how to use cubase. i wish i learnt how to play piano when i was younger (17 now). i got the musical knowlage after playing trumpet after for a couple of years. just gotta remember it all again :P. |

hey you got alot more time than me, I'm already 23. Fruity is not bad it just has bad samples. Best thing to do would be to get some really good samples and start building your own library of drum samples ect... I always found it difficult to lay out drum parts in Cubase. I still use Cubase but, I'm mostly using reason atm, works pretty good. Check out this track I'm workin on.

It's actually a remix I'm working on. I started with fruity when I was 17 also, then I just kinda stopped cause I didn't like what I was makin. I wish I would have know about these forums back then, I would have been alot better by now. |

nice tune :) its cool. i just dont like the whistle yoyu got going before the first breakdown kinda gave me the s after awhile.
i dont use anything thats stocks fruity really. i have a load of vsts that i enjoy ing with heh. havent got to many samples what you heard in that tune is basiclly all the drum samples i got i gotta go out and buy some sample cd's but i barely have any cash. ill keep working on my tune (cant do it now im @ work for the next 10 hours ergg) when i get home ill have another sleepless night :) yay for insomnia. |

Well that whistle is actually a Cello but thats okay.
There alot of free samples online that are of just as good a quality as ones you buy. Look around some I'm sure you'll be able to find em.
I'm at work too, I just install some audio programs on the computer here and start makin music when it's slow. Only problem is that I gotta make music on computer speakers.:rolleyes: I can't complain though I get paid for makin music in a way.
Edit: oh you mean before the very first breakdown when it's just drums? I don't remember what that thing is, I actually think it's something from this drum and bass sample cd I have. |

| hahahaha i like that. ergg i should bring some progs down here (net cafe) but this is an on board sound card and its a pieice of . wish i got paid :( ergg in family business. oh well at least i just stand behind a comp all day and smoke :p .ive looked heaps of places for samples usually alot of crap meh. ill have to rip my own off some records. usually find the best samples on that have been big tunes anyway. ill go through my crate of records with all tunes from the 70's and 80's see what i can find in them. you on msn ? if so pm me your email ill add you. |

Yeah that kick is real bad, in the nicest way. Its way to quiet and its almost doubled as is in a trainwreck from a DJ. Sorry for that negative point.
Nice alround track though, nice mood, nice sounds in there so keep it up ! |

heh thanks man. *sigh i liked the kick oh well, i forgot to mention its not finished :p. still have to learn a bit of mastering as well.
