I need to know if this is way too cheesy or if there is something missing (I'm way new at this). I've listened to this one enough that I'm totally numb to it and I'm not sure how it stacks. I'm at about half the length I want to end at and I need to introduce something else to keep this going, but I'm not sure what. Ignore the orchestral thing at the end, I forgot to chop that off in my mixdown.
Also, I think I need another pad sound to "fill-up" the sound (I have this crummy 80's placeholder thing for now). I'd appreciate the feedback, I don't want this one to go to waste!

I'll post the whole thing here if and when it's done! |

Well those synths sound way too retro for my liking. They need some serious beefing up, heheh.
Your percussions are super minimal; they need to be sharper, louder and fuller. That kick needs some serious beefing up too. I can't give many pointers on the melody because I have no idea what you're going for. |

Way too retro, gotcha. I can fix that I think. Is it the pad synths, the offbeat synth, or both? As for the perc, what do you mean by beefing up the kick? Tighter sound or more low boom?
Oh, and thanks for not flaming the hell out of me for posting this here :) I know I'm not all that good. |

For kick, take a listen to Pulser - My Religion, or the Mirco de Govia remix of Sun Decade - I'm alone. It needs more punch, and it needs to be louder.
Um, I think it's mainly the pads that sound retro. When I listen to it it sounds like the pads from an early 80s glamrock tune =P
And obviously I wouldn't flame the out of you dude; I've produced stuff 100x worse guaranteed =P |

Seriously thanks for the help.
And yeah, the pad sounds are almost laughably 80's. I'll need to completely replace those and the bassline-pad-thing. |
