Hey TA's, Im having a spot of bother. I have had reason for some time now well from version 1, and i always use the subtractor for bass and malstrom for synth (Sometimes). The thing is i always get the same souns over and over and over again. I have heard of sounds produced from the subtractor like the ferry strings, SHOKK sound and Tom Cowans synth also (I forgot where i obtained these samples). I have tried for ages and i am getting no luck and my production is starting to sound the same and i am finding myself turning to wav samples which are starting to sounds the same too and it is rapidly going down hill...
I am wondering if anyone has some hot tips, samples info anything on helping me because i have tried everything and there is no hope. I hope you can people can help me.

You downloaded them from a demo page for the sound ftp ( see sticky thread for details ), which is still offline.
The ferry strings are made with subtractor, but the SHOKK sound is a sample in the NN19 ( not made with sub or maelstorm ) and "tom cowans synth" is a multisample he once made with his Virus.
1. Look at the included Demo song: Realization. There are real good maelstorm and subtractor sounds.
2. Go to www.reasonstation.net and download the last 50 trance rps and rns which were in the charts of reasonsstation. Looking at the sounds of these songs, will show you different ways of getting high quality sounds.
3. Check out the sticky thread "exploration of sound" on the top of this forum. There should be some basic hints too. :gsmile:

heh I found myself in the same downhill as you, all the synths sounding the same, all my songs sounding the same and stuck with my regular all day same samples that I used 6 months ago too...
I think there are many different ways to solve the problem, one might be following trancevision's advice (he's a tallented guy, trust him) ;)
although I found it easier turning to a totally new sequencer that suports VST, I personally think that VST is such a big freedom :) |

| Thanx people, i was thinking on using fl n vst...wierd. The idea i had was to sample the sounds and import them to the NN-XT. |
